Assignments• I make students take home all the
homework for that evening so parents can see and sign planner
• All work is due each morning by 8:20
Late work• Students will have the opportunity to
work on late work during recess at our study hall
• Late work for all 5th grade teachers will be deducted 10%
• If work is not turned in by the following Monday, the assignment will be scored as a 0%
Planners• Used for parent/teacher
communication (I look every day)• Lists all homework for the day• Notifies parents of late work or
other important information(circled)• Students want stars in their
planners. A star means all work was in, and the planner was signed.
Homework• District policy: 10 minutes per
grade level• Fifth grade=50 minutes
Tuesday Folders• Recording of all grades from the prior
week• Missing grade means either work was
never turned in or student was absent• Need to be signed by parent and
returned on each Wednesday• Great way for students and parents
to to keep track of progress
CTI’s• Correct to improve• A grade of D (69%-60%) or F (59%) or lower can
be corrected• Not applicable to late work scored as 0%• All incorrect problems must be fixed in order to
receive credit• Extremely low F’s can be raised to a 65% • All corrections are due each Thursday…no later• Applies to 1st and 2ndquarter only
Absences• Students are responsible for
seeing me for make-up work• If HW is going to be picked up, call
