Aztec Creation Myths
Mesoamerican creation myths are the collection of creation myths attributed to, or
documented for, the various cultures and civilizations of pre-Columbian
Mesoamerica. The Maya gods included Kukulkan (also known by the K'iche' nameGukumatz and the Aztec name Quetzalcoatl) and Tepeu. The two were referred to as
the Creators, the Forefathers or the Makers. According to the story, the two gods
decided to preserve their legacy by creating an Earth-bound species looking like them.
The first attempt was man made from mud, but Tepeu and Kukulkan found that the
mud crumbled. The two gods summoned the other gods, and together they decided to

make man from wood. However, since these men had no soul and soon lost loyalty to
the creators, the gods destroyed them by rain. Finally, man was constructed from
maize, the Mayans staple and sacred food. The deity Itzamna is credited as being the
creator of the calendar along with creating writing.
Myth 3
Quetzalcoatl, the light one, and Tezcatlipoca, the dark one, looked down from their
place in the sky and saw only water below.
A gigantic goddess floated upon the waters, eating everything with her many mouths.
The two gods saw that whatever they created was eaten by this monster. They knew
they must stop her, so they transformed themselves into two huge serpents and
descended into the water. One of them grabbed the goddess by the arms while the
other grabbed her around the legs, and before she could resist they pulled until she
broke apart.
Her head and shoulders became the earth and the lower part of her body the sky. The
other gods were angry at what the two had done and decided, as compensation for her
dismemberment, to allow her to provide the necessities for people to survive; so fromher hair they created trees, grass, and flowers; caves, fountains, and wells from her
eyes; rivers from her mouth; hills and valleys from her nose; and mountains from her
shoulders.
Still the goddess was often unhappy and the people could hear her crying in the night.
They knew she wept because of her thirst for human blood, and that she would not
provide food from the soil until she drank. So the gift of human hearts is given her.
She who provides sustenance for human lives demands human lives for her own
sustenance. So it has always been; so it will ever be.

The mother of the Aztec creation story was called "Coatlique", the Lady of the Skirt
of Snakes.
Coatlicue, also known as Teteoinan (also transcribed Teteo Inan) ("The Mother
of Gods"), is the Aztec goddess who gave birth to the moon, stars, and
Huitzilopochtli, the god of the sun and war. She is also known as Toci, ("OurGrandmother"), and Cihuacoatl, ("The Lady of the serpent"), the patron of
women who die in childbirth.
The word "Coatlicue" is Nahuatl for "the one with the skirt of serpents". She is
referred to by the epithets "Mother Goddess of the Earth who gives birth to all
celestial things", "Goddess of Fire and Fertility", "Goddess of Life, Death and
Rebirth" and "Mother of the Southern Stars".
She is represented as a woman wearing a skirt of writhing snakes and a
necklace made of human hearts, hands and skulls. Her feet and hands areadorned with claws (for digging graves) and her breasts are depicted as hanging
flaccid from nursing. Coatlicue keeps on her chest the hands, hearts and skulls
of her children so they can be purified in their mother's chest.
Almost all representation of this goddess depict her deadly side, because Earth,
as well as loving mother, is the insatiable monster that consumes everything
that lives. She represents the devouring mother, in whom both the womb and
the grave exist.
According to the legend, she was magically impregnated while still a virgin bya ball of feathers that fell on her while she was sweeping a temple. She gave
birth to Quetzalcoatl and Xolotl. In a fit of wrath her four hundred children,
who were encouraged by Coyolxauhqui (her daughter), decapitated her.
The god Huitzilopochtli afterward emerged from Coatlicue's womb fully grown
and girded for battle and killed many of his brothers and sisters, including
decapitating Coyolxauhqui and throwing her head into the sky to become the
Moon. In a variation of this legend, Huitzilopochtli himself is conceived by the
ball-of-feathers incident and emerges from the womb in time to save his mother
from harm.
A massive sculpture known as the Coatlicue Stone was discovered by the
astronomer Antonio de Leon y Gama in August of 1790 after an urban
redevelopment program uncovered artifacts. Six months later, the team
discovered the massive Aztec sun stone. De Leon y Gama's account of the
discoveries was the first archeological work on Pre-Columbian Mexico.

Coatlicue was created in the image of the unknown, decorated with skulls, snakes, and
lacerated hands. There are no cracks in her body and she is a perfect monolith (a
totality of intensity and self-containment, yet her features were sqaure and
decapitated).
Coatlique was first impregnated by an obsidian knife and gave birth toCoyolxanuhqui, goddess of the moon, and to a group of male offspring, who became
the stars.
Then one day Coatlique found a ball of feathers, which she tucked into her bosom.
Whe she looked for it later, it was gone, at which time she realized that she was again
pregnant. Her children, the moon and stars did not believe her story. Ashamed of their
mother, they resolved to kill her.
A goddess could only give birth once, to the original litter of divinity and no more.
During the time that they were plotting her demise, Coatlicue gave birth to the fierygod of war, Huitzilopochtli.
With the help of a fire serpent, he destroyed his brothers and sister, murdering them in
a rage. He beheaded Coyolxauhqui and threw her body into a deep gorge in a
mountain, where it lies dismembered forever.
The natural cosmos of the Indians was born of catastrophe. The heavens literally
crumbled to pieces. The earth mother fell and was fertilized, while her children were
torn apart by fratricide and them scattered and disjointed throughout the universe.
Ometecuhlti and his wife Omecihuatl created all life in the world. Their children
were:
Xipe Totec - The Lord of the Springtime
Huitzilopochtli - the Sun god
Quetzalcoatl - the Plumed Serpent
Tezcatlipoca - the god of Night and Sorcery
Coatlicue - She of the Serpent Skirt

Chinese Creation Myths
There are five major views of creation in China:
The first, and most consistent historically, is that no myth exists. This is not to
say there were none existing at all, only that there is no evidence showing an
attempt to explain the world's origin.
The second view is very indirect. It is merely based on a question of a dialog in
an earlier reference. The idea in the question implies that the heavens and the
earth separated from one another.
The third view is the one perpetuated by Taoism by the nature of its
philosophy. It appears "relatively" late in Chinese history. In it, Tao isdescribed as the ultimate force behind the creation. With tao, nothingness gave
rise to existence, existence gave rise to yin and yang, and yin and yang gave
rise to everything. Due to the ambiguous nature of this myth, it could be
compatible with the first myth (and therefore say nothing). But it could, like its
antithesis, be explained in a way to better fit the modern scientific view of the
creation of universe.
The fourth view is the relatively late myth of Pangu. This was an explanation
offered by Taoist monks hundreds of years after Laozi; probably around 200
CE. In this story, the universe begins as a cosmic egg. A god named Pangu,
born inside the egg, broke it into two halves: The upper half became the sky,
the lower half became the earth. As the god grew taller, the sky and the earth
grew thicker and were separated further. Finally the god died and his body parts
became different parts of the earth.
The fifth view would be tribal accounts that vary widely and not necessarily
connect to a system of belief.
Phan Ku - P'an Ku
7/29/2019 Aztec Creation Myths
6/44
Page 6 of44
Of various creation stories which evolve in China, the most striking is that of P'an Ku.He is hatched from a cosmic egg. Half the shell is above him as the sky, the other half
below him as the earth. He grows taller each day for 18,000 years, gradually pushing
them apart until they reach their appointed places. After all this effort P'an Ku falls to
pieces. His limbs become the mountains, his blood the rivers, his breath the wind and
his voice the thunder. His two eyes are the sun and the moon. The parasites on his
body are mankind.
Another version ... In the beginning was a huge egg containing chaos and a mixture of
yin-yang (female-male, cold-heat, dark-light, wet-dry, etc). Also within this yin-yang
was Phan Ku who broke forth from the egg as a giant who separated the yin-yang intomany opposites, including earth and sky. With a great chisel and a huge hammer,
Phan Ku carved out the mountains, rivers, valleys, and oceans. He also made the sun,
moon, and stars. When he died, after 18,000 years, it is said that the fleas in his hair
became human beings. In summation, the Chinese say that everything that is - is Phan
Ku and everything that Phan Ku is yin-yang.
Pan Gu
In the beginning , the heavens and earth were still one and all was chaos. The universe
was like a big black egg, carrying Pan Gu inside itself. After 18 thousand years Pan
Gu woke from a long sleep. He felt suffocated, so he took up a broadax and wielded it
7/29/2019 Aztec Creation Myths
7/44
Page 7 of44
with all his might to crack open the egg. The light, clear part of it floated up and
formed the heavens, the cold, turbid matter stayed below to form earth. Pan Gu stood
in the middle, his head touching the sky, his feet planted on the earth. The heavens
and the earth began to grow at a rate of ten feet per day, and Pan Gu grew along with
them. After another 18 thousand years, the sky was higher, the earth thicker, and Pan
Gu stood between them like a pillar 9 million li in height so that they would never joinagain.
When Pan Gu died, his breath became the wind and clouds, his voice the rolling
thunder. One eye became the sun and on the moon. His body and limbs turned to five
big mountains and his blood formed the roaring water. His veins became far-
stretching roads and his muscles fertile land. The innumerable stars in the sky came
from his hair and beard, and flowers and trees from his skin and the fine hairs on his
body. His marrow turned to jade and pearls. His sweat flowed like the good rain and
sweet dew that nurtured all things on earth. According to some versions of the Pan Gu
legend, his tears flowed to make rivers and radiance of his eyes turned into thunder
and lighting. When he was happy the sun shone, but when he was angry black clouds
gathered in the sky. One version of the legend has it that the fleas and lice on his body
became the ancestors of mankind.
The Pan Gu story has become firmly fixed in Chinese tradition. There is even an
idiom relating to it: "Since Pan Gu created earth and the heavens," meaning "for a
very long time." Nevertheless, it is rather a latecomer to the catalog of Chinese
legends. First mention of it is in a book on Chinese myths written by Xu Zheng in the
Three Kingdoms period (CE 220-265). Some opinions hold that it originated in south
China or southeast Asia.
There are several versions of the Pan Gu story.
Among the Miao, Yao, Li and other nationalities of south China, a legend concerns
Pan Gu the ancestor of all mankind, with a man's body and a dog's head. It runs like
this: Up in Heaven the God in charge of the earth, King Gao Xin, owned a beautiful
spotted dog. He reared him on a plate (pan in Chinese ) inside a gourd (hu, which is
close to the sound gu ), so the dog was known as Pan Gu . Among the Gods there was
great enmity between King Gao Xin and his rival King Fang. "Whoever can bring me
the head of King Fang may marry my daughter, " he proclaimed, but nobody was
willing to try because they were afraid of King Fang's strong soldiers and sturdy
horses.
The dog Pan Gu overheard what was said, and when Gao Xin was sleeping, slipped
out of the palace and ran to King Fang. The latter was glad to see him standing there

wagging his tail. "You see, King Gao Xin is near his end. Even his dog has left him,"
Fang said, and held a banquet for the occasion with the dog at his side.
At midnight when all was quiet and Fang was overcome with drink, Pan Gu jumped
onto the king's bed, bit off his head and ran back to his master with it . King Gao Xin
was overjoyed to see the head of his rival, and gave orders to bring Pan Gu some freshmeat. But Pan Gu left the meat untouched and curled himself up in a corner to sleep.
For three days he ate nothing and did not stir.
The king was puzzled and asked, "Why don't you eat? Is it because I failed to keep my
promise of marrying a dog?" To his surprise Pan Gu began to speak. "Don't worry, my
King. Just cover me with your golden bell and in seven days and seven nights I'll
become a man." The King did as he said, but on the sixth day, fearing he would starve
to death, out of solicitude the princess peeped under the bell. Pan Gu's body had
already changed into that of a man, but his head was still that of a dog. However, once
the bell was raised, the magic change stopped, and he had to remain a man with adog's head.
He married the princess, but she didn't want to be seen with such a man so they
moved to the earth and settled in the remote mountains of south China. There they
lived happily and had four children, three boys and a girl, who became the ancestors
of mankind.
The Legend of Tan'gun
The Wei Shu tells us that two thousand years ago, at the time of emperor Yao, Tangun
Wanggom chose Asadal as his capital and founded the state of Chos'circon. The Old
Record notes that in ancient times Hwanin's son, Hwanung, wished to descend from
heaven and live in the world of human beings. Knowing his son's desire, Hwanin
surveyed the three highest mountains and found Mount T'aebaek the most suitableplace for his son to settle and help human beings. Therefore he gave Hwanung three
heavenly seals and dispatched him to rule over the people.
Hwanung descended with three thousand followers to a spot under a tree by the Holy
Altar atop Mount T'aebaek, and he called this place the City of God. He was the
Heavenly King Hwanung. Leading the Earl of Wind, the Master of Rain, and the

Master of Clouds, he took charge of some three hundred and sixty areas of
responsibility, including agriculture, allotted lifespans, illness, punishment, and good
and evil, and brought culture to his people.
At that time a bear and a tiger living in the same cave prayed to Holy Hwanung to
transform them into human beings. The king gave them a bundle of sacred mugwortsand twenty cloves of garlic and said, "If you eat these and shun the sunlight for one
hundred days, you will assume human form." Both animals ate the spices and avoided
the sun. After twenty-one days the bear became a woman, but the tiger, unable to
observe the taboo, remained a tiger. Unable to find a husband, the bear-woman prayed
under the alter tree for a child. Hwanung metamorphosed himself, lay with her, and
begot a son called Tangun Wanggom.
In the fiftieth year of the reign of Emperor Yao, Tangun made the walled city of
P'yongyang the capital and called his country Choson. He then moved his capital to
Asadal on Mount Paegak, a lso named Mount Kunghol, whence he ruled for fifteenhundred years. When, in the year kimyo [1122 BC], King Wu of Chou enfeoffed Chi
Tzu to Choson, Tangun moved to Changdangyong, but later he returned and hid in
Asadal as a mountain god at the age of one thousand nine hundred and eight.
The Lay of King Tongmyong
In the third year of Shen-ch'ueh of Han, in early summer, when the Great Bear Stood
in the Serpent, Haemosu came to Korea, a true Son of Heaven. He came down
through the air in a five-dragon chariot, with a retinue of hundreds, robes streaming,
riding on swans. The atmosphere echoed loudly with chiming music, and banners
floated on the tinted clouds. From ancient times men ordained to rule have come
down from Heaven, but in daylight he came from the heart of the sky - a thing never
before seen.
In the mornings he dwelt among men, in the evenings he returned to his heavenly
palace. The ancients have told us that between heaven and earth the distance is two
thousand billion and eighteen thousand seven hundred and eighty ri. A scaling-ladder
could not reach so far, flying pinions could not bear the strain, yet morning and
evening he went and returned at will. By what power could he do it?

North of the capital was the Green River, where the River Earl's three beautiful
daughters rose from the drake-neck's green waves to play in the Bear's Heart Pool.
Their jade ornaments tinkled, their flowerlike beauty was modest -- they might have
been fairies of the Han River banks, or goddesses of the Lo River islets. The King, out
hunting, espied them, was fascinated and lost his heart, not from lust for girls, but
from eager desire for an heir. The three sisters saw him coming and plunged into thewater to flee, so the King prepared a palace to hide in till they came back:
He traced foundations with a riding whip: A bronze palace suddenly towered, silk
cushions were spread, bright and elegant, golden goblets waited with fragrant wine.
Soon the three maidens came in, and toasted each other until they were drunk. Then
the king emerged from hiding; The startled girls ran, tripped, and tumbled on to the
floor. The oldest was Willow Flower, and it was she whom the king caught.
The Earl of the River raged in anger, and sent a speedy messenger to demand, "What
rogue are you who dares behave so presumptuously?" "Son of the HeavenlyEmperor," replied Haemosu, "I'm asking for your noble daughter's hand." He
beckoned to heaven: the dragon car came down, and straightaway he moved unto the
Ocean Palace where the River Earl admonished him: "Marriage is a weighty matter,
needing go-betweens and gifts. Why have you done these things? If you are God's
own heir, prove your powers of transmogrification!" Through the rippling, flowing
green waters the River Earl leapt, transforming into a carp; the king turned at once
into an otter that seized the carp before it could flee.
The earl then sprouted wings, flying upward, transformed into a pheasant; but the king
was a golden eagle and struck like a great bird of prey; the Earl sped away as a stag,
the king pursued as wolf. The Earl then confessed that the king was divine, poured
wine, and they drank to the contract. When the king was drunk, he was put in a leather
bag, set beside the girl in his chariot, and set off with her to rise to Heaven together.
But the car had not left the water before Haemosu woke from his stupor and, seizing
the girl's golden hairpin, pierced the leather and slid out through the hole, alone to
mount the car beyond the crimson clouds. All was quiet; he did not return.
The River Earl punished his daughter by stretching her lips three feet long, and
throwing her into the Ubal stream with only two maidservants. A fisherman saw them
in the eddies, creatures disporting themselves strangely, and reported the fact to King
Komwa. An iron net was set in the torrent, and the woman was trapped on a rock, a
monster of shocking appearance, whose long lips made her mute. Three times they
were trimmed before she could speak. King Komwa recognized Haemosu's wife, and
gave unto her a palace where she might live. The sun shone in her breast and she bore
Chumong in the fourth year of Shen-ch'ueh.

His form was wonderful, his voice of mighty power. He was born from a pottle-sized
egg that frightened all who saw it. The king thought it inauspicious, monstrous and
inhuman, and put it into the horse corral, but the horses took care not to trample it; it
was thrown down steep hills, but the wild beasts all protected it; its mother retrieved it
and nurtured it, till the boy hatched. His first words were:"The flies are nibbling my
eyes, I cannot lie and sleep in peace." His mother made him a bow and arrows, Andhe never missed a shot.
Years passed, he grew up, getting cleverer every day, and the crown prince of the
Puyo began to grow jealous, saying, "This fellow Chumong is a redoubtable warrrior.
If we do not act soon, he will become trouble later." So the king sent Chumong to tend
horses, to test his intentions. Chumong meditated, "For heaven's grandson to be a
mere herdsman is an unendurable shame." Searching his heart, he sought the right
way: "I had rather die than live like this. I would go southward, found a nation, build a
city -- but for my mother, whom it is hard to leave." His mother heard his words and
wept; but wiped her glistening tears:
"Never mind about me. Rather I fear for your safety. A knight setting out on a journey
needs a trusty stallion." Together they went to the corral and thrashed the horses with
long whips. The terrified animals milled about, but one horse, a beautiful bay, leapt
over the two-fathom wall, and proved itself best of the herd. They fixed a needle in his
tongue that stung him so he could not eat; in a day or two he wasted away and looked
like a worn out jade.
When the king came around to inspect, he gave this horse to Chumong, who took it,
removed the needle, and fed the horse well, day and night. Then he made a compact
with three friends, friends who were men of wisdom; they set off south till they
reached the Om, but could find no ferry to cross. Chumong raised his whip to the sky,
and uttered a long sad complaint: "Grandson of Heaven, Grandson of the River, I have
come here in flight from danger. Look on my pitiful orphaned heart: Heaven and
Earth, have you cast me off?"
Gripping his bow, he struck the water: Fish and turtles hurried, heads and tails
together, to form a great bridge, which the friends at once traversed. Suddenly,
pursuing troops appeared and mounted the bridge; but it melted away.
A pair of doves brought barley in their bills, messengers sent by his mysterious
mother. He chose a site for his capital amid mountains and streams and thick-wooded
hills. Seating himself on the royal mat as King Tongmyong, he ordered the ranks of
his subjects. Alas for Songyang, king of Piryu, why was he so undiscerning? Was he a
son of the immortal gods, who could not recognize a scion of Heaven?

12/44
Page 12 of44
He asked Tongmyong to be his vassal, uttering rash demands, but could not hit the
painted deer's navel, and was amazed when Tongmyong split the jade ring; he found
his drum and bugle changed and dared not call them his; he saw Tongmyong's ancient
pillars, then returned home biting his tongue.
Tongmyong went hunting in the west, caught a tall snow-white deer, strung it up bythe hind feet at Haewon, and produced a great malediction: "Let Heaven pour torrents
on Piryu, and wash away his capital. I will not let you go till you help me vent my
wrath."
The deer cried with great sounds so piteous they reached the ears of Heaven. And
from the horrible music of the deer, a great rain fell for seven days, floods came like
Huai joined with Ssu; Songyang was frightened and anxious. He had thick ropes
stretched by the water, knights and peasants struggled to clutch them, sweating and
gaping in fear.
Then Tongmyong took his whip and drew a line at which the waters stopped.
Songyang submitted and thereafter there was no argument. A dark cloud covered
Falcon Pass, the crests of ridges were hidden, and thousands upon thousands of
carpenters were heard hammering there. The king said, "Music from Heaven is for me
preparing a great fortress up yonder." Suddenly the mist dispersed and a palace stood
out high and splendid, where Tongmyong ruled for nineteen years, till he rose to
heaven and forsook his throne.
Nuwa Makes Men

Page 13 of44
Nuwa is the goddess who separated the heaven from the Earth, creating the DivineLand (China). She is the original ancestor of the Chinese nation. According to legend,
Nuwa was also the younger sister of Emperor Fuxi (said to have lived during the third
millennium BC) and she herself was an empress.
The historical records say:
Nuwa had the surname Feng; she had the body of a snake, a human head and the
virtue of a divine being. She is also known as Mixi.
The name Nuwa first appears in one of the Elegies of Chu entitled Tian Wen:
Nuwa loved peace and delighted in making things. She moulded figures from the
yellow earth and gave them life and the ability to bear children: this is how humanity
was created. When demons fought a terrible war, they broke the pillars which held the
heavens up. The firmament cracked open and the human world was put in mortal
peril.
To save the lives of those she had created, Nuwa worked unceasingly, melting down
the five-coloured stones to mend the breach. When the firmament was whole again,
Nuwa, exhausted by her toil, lay down on the earth and was transformed into a vastmountain range. In this way, she nurtured the growth of the Chinese nation by
providing a rich and fertile land. This well-known tale is known as 'Nuwa Mends The
Firmament.'

Amongst China's ethnic minorities, another story has survived concerning how
Emperor Fuxi came to take his sister Nuwa as his bride. This tale is known as A
Brother And Sister Marry.
The ferocious God of Thunder was captured by Fuxi's father and imprisoned deep
within a mountain cave. No one was allowed to visit him. Fuxi and Nwa could nolonger bear to hear the Thunder God's pitiable entreaties for water, but they dared not
bring him any water. Eventually, the two of them shed tears which the god drank out
of their cupped hands. The Thunder God was so strengthened by the tears that he burst
out of his mountain prison. To repay Fuxi and Nuwa for their part in the rescue, the
Thunder God pulled a long canine tooth from his mouth and gave it to them saying:
"In three days, mankind will suffer a terrible calamity. You may use this tooth to keep
yourselves safe from harm."
Having said this, the Thunder God leaped into the sky and disappeared.
Three days later, the sky was filled with thunder and lightning. A tremendous storm
broke out. Rain fell incessantly and the flood waters rose; huge waves swept across
the earth and the entire human race was destroyed. As the flood began, the Thunder
God's tooth transformed itself into a boat. Safe aboard this vessel, Fuxi and his sister
rode the waves and drifted with the tides. Only when the waters had subsided did Fuxi
and Nuwa realise that they alone had survived the desolation. When they had grown
into adults, Fuxi and Nuwa became husband and wife in order to bear descendants and
establish a new human race.
This second story reflects the custom of intermarriage between blood relations in
ancient China. It also shows why Nuwa is known as the mother of the Chinese nation.
It is said that there were no men when the sky and the earth were separated. It was
Nuwa who made men by moulding yellow clay. The work was so taxing that her
strength was not equal to it. So she dipped a rope into the mud and then lifted it. The
mud that dripped from the rope also became men. Those made by moulding yellow
clay were rich and noble, while those made by lifting the rope were poor and low. -

Nuwa Mends the Sky
In ancient times, the four corners of the sky collapsed and the world with its nine
regions split open. The sky could not cover all the things under it, nor could the Earthcarry all the things on it.
A great fire raged and would not die out; a fierce flood raced about and could not be
checked. Savage beasts devoured innocent people; vicious birds preyed on the weak
and old.
Then Nuwa melted rocks of five colours and used them to mend the cracks in the sky.
She supported the four corners of the sky with the legs she had cut off from a giant
turtle. She killed the black dragon to save the people of Jizhou, and blocked the flood
with the ashes of reeds.
Thus the sky was mended, its four corners lifted, the flood tamed, Jizhou pacified, and
harmful birds and beasts killed, and the innocent people were able to live on the
square Earth under the dome of the sky. It was a time when birds, beasts, insects and
snakes no longer used their claws or teeth or poisonous stings, for they did not want to
catch or eat weaker things.
Nuwa's deeds benefited the heavens above and the Earth below. Her name was
remembered by later generations and her light shone on every creation.
Now she was traveling on a thunder-chariot drawn by a two-winged dragon and two
green hornless dragons, with auspicious objects in her hands and a special mattress
underneath, surrounded by golden clouds, a white dragon leading the way and a flying
snake following behind.

Floating freely over the clouds, she took ghosts and gods to the ninth heaven and had
an audience with the Heavenly Emperor at Lin Men, where she rested in peace and
dignity under the emperor. She never boasted of her achievements, nor did she try to
win any renown; she wanted to conceal her virtues, in line with the ways of the
universe.
Jiang Taigong Meets King Wen
When King Wen decided to go hunting, Bian, his official historian, burnt a tortoise
shell to forecast the result. After reading the cracks he said, "Hunting on the north sideof the Wei River is bound to bring a great gain. It will not be a dragon or a Chi, nor
will it be a tiger or a bear. It will be a wise man sent by Heaven to be your minister
and mentor." King Wen got on his carriage, started the horses, and set out for the
place. There he saw Jiang taigong sitting on the grass and fishing. - From Liu tao (Six
Tactics)
Zhou Xibo went hunting and on the north bank of the wei River he met Jiang
Taigong. After talking with him, Xibo was very pleased, saying, "Before he died, my
father had anticipated that Zhou would become prosperous when a sage came to us.
Are you the sage? My father had long expected your arrival!" So he called himTaigong Wang (Father's Expectation). He returned with Taigong, sharing his carriage
with him, and was to treat him as his mentor. - From Shi ji (Records of the Grand
Historian)
King wen made Taigong the magistrate of Guantan. During the year Taigong was
there, there was never a wind that was strong enough to disturb the leaves of the trees.
Once in his dream, King Wen saw a beautiful woman weeping before his carriage.
When asked the reason, she replied, "I am the daughter of the god of Mount Taishan
and married to the god of the East sea. Now I want to go home, but the virtuousmagistrate of Guantan makes the trip difficult. For my movements are always
accompanied by a violent storm, which damage his good name." After waking up, the
king summoned Taigong to ask what had happened. He was told that a violent storm
with pouring rain had swept areas outside Guantan that day. King Wen then promoted
Taigong to the position of Chief General. - From Sou shen ji (Stories of Immortals)

Egyptian Creation Myths
Egyptian Gods and Goddesses
There were at least three separate cosmogenies in Egyptian mythology, correspondingto at least two separate groups of worshippers.
The Ennead, in which Atum arose from the primordial waters (Neith), and
masturbated to relieve his loneliness. His semen and breath became Tefnut
(moisture) and Shu (dryness), respectively. From Shu and Tefnut, were born
Geb (earth), and Nut (sky), who were born in a state of permanent copulation.
Shu separated them, and their children were Ausare (Osiris; death), Set (desert),
Aset (Isis; life), and Nebet Het (Nephthys; fertile land). Osiris and Isis were a
couple, as were Nepthys and Set.
The Ogdoad, in which Ra arose, either in an egg, or a blue lotus, as a result of
the creative interaction between the primordial forces of Nu/Naunet (water),
Amun/Amunet (air), Kuk/Kauket (darkness), and Huh/Hauhet (eternity). Ra
then created Hathor, his wife, with whom they had a son, Hor (Horus; in the
form known as Horus the Elder), who was married to Isis. This cosmogeny also
includes Anupu (Anubis) as lord of the dead, amongst others.
Over time, the rival groups gradually merged, Ra and Atum were identified as the
same god, making Atum's mysterious creation actually due to the Ogdoad, and Ra
having the children Shu and Tefnut, etc. In consequence, Anubis was identified as ason of Osiris, as was Horus. Amun's role was later thought much greater, and for a
time, he became chief god, although he eventually became considered a manifestation
of Ra.
For a time, Ra and Horus were identified as one another, and when the Aten
monotheism was unsuccessfully introduced, it was Ra-Horus who was thought of as

the Aten, and the consequent cosmogony this inspired. Later, Osiris' cult became more
popular, and he became the main god, being identified as a form of Ptah. Eventually,
all the gods were thought of as aspects of Osiris, Isis, Horus, or Set (who was by now
a villain), indeed, Horus and Osiris had started to become thought of as the same god.
Ptah eventually was identified as Osiris.
Creational Myths
In the beginning, before there was any land of Egypt, all was darkness, and there was
nothing but a great waste of water called Nun. The power of Nun was such that therearose out of the darkness a great shining egg, and this was Re. He was all-powerful,
and he could take many forms. His power and the secret of it lay in his hidden name;
but if he spoke other names, that which he named came into being.
"I am Khepera at the dawn, and Re at noon, and Tem in the evening," he said. And the
sun rose and passed across the sky and set for the first time.
Then he named Shu, and the first winds blew; he named Tefnut the spitter, and the
first rain fell. Next he named Geb, and the earth came into being; he named the
goddess Nut, and she was the sky arched over the earth with her feet on one horizonand her hands on the other; he named Hapi, and the great River Nile flowed through
Egypt and made it fruitful.
After this Re named all things that are upon the earth, and they grew. Last of all he
named mankind, and there were men and women in the land of Egypt.
Then Re took on the shape of a man and became the first Pharaoh, ruling over the
whole country for thousands and thousands of years, and giving such harvests that for
ever afterwards the Egyptians spoke of the good things "which happened in the time
of Re".
But, being in the form of a man, Re grew old. In time men no longer feared him or
obeyed his laws. They laughed at him, saying: "Look at Re! His bones are like silver,
his flesh like gold, his hair is the colour of lapis lazuli!"

Page 20 of44
Re was angry when he heard this, and he was more angry still at the evil deeds which
men were doing in disobedience to his laws. So he called together the gods whom he
had made - Shu and Tefnut and Geb and Nut - and he also summoned Nun. Soon the
gods gathered about Re in his Secret Place, and the goddesses also. But mankind
knew nothing of what was happening, and continued to jeer at Re and to break his
commandments. Then Re spoke to Nun before the assembled gods: "Eldest of thegods, you who made me; and you gods whom I have made: look upon mankind who
came into being at a glance of my Eye. See how men plot against me; hear what they
say of me; tell me what I should do to them. For I will not destroy mankind until I
have heard what you advise."
Then Nun said: "My son Re, the god greater than he who made him and mightier than
those whom he has created, turn your mighty Eye upon them and send destruction
upon them in the form of your daughter, the goddess Sekhmet."
Re answered: "Even now fear is falling upon them and they are fleeing into the desertand hiding themselves in the mountains in terror at the sound of my voice."
"Send against them the glance of your Eye in the form Sekhmet!" cried all the other
gods and goddesses, bowing before Re until their foreheads touched the ground.
So at the terrible glance from the Eye of Re his daughter Sekhmet came into being,
the fiercest of all goddesses. Like a lion she rushed upon her prey, and her chief
delight was in slaughter, and her pleasure was in blood.
At the bidding of Re she came into Upper and Lower Egypt to slay those who hadscorned and disobeyed him: she killed them among the mountains which lie on either
side of the Nile, and down beside the river, and in the burning deserts. All whom she
saw she slew, rejoicing in slaughter and the taste of blood.
Presently Re looked out over the land and saw what Sekhmet had done. Then he
called to her, saying: "Come, my daughter, and tell me how you have obeyed my
commands."
Sekhmet answered with the terrible voice of a lioness as she tears her prey: "By the
life which you have given me, I have indeed done vengeance on mankind, and myheart rejoices."
Now for many nights the Nile ran red with blood, and Sekhmet's feet were red as she
went hither and thither through all the land of Egypt slaying and slaying.

Page 21 of44
Presently Re looked out over the earth once more, and now his heart was stirred with
pity for men, even though they had rebelled against him. But none could stop the cruel
goddess Sekhmet, not even Re himself: she must cease from slaying of her own
accord -and Re saw that this could only come about through cunning.
So he gave his command: "Bring before me swift messengers who will run upon theearth as silently as shadows and with the speed of the storm winds." When these were
brought he said to them: "Go as fast as you can up the Nile to where it flows fiercely
over the rocks and among the islands of the First Cataract; go to the isle that is called
Elephantine and bring from it a great store of the red ochre which is to be found
there."
The messengers sped on their way and returned with the blood-red ochre to
Heliopolis, the city of Re where stand the stone obelisks with points of gold that are
like fingers pointing to the sun. It was night when they came to the city, but all day the
women of Heliopolis had been brewing beer as Re bade them.
Re came to where the beer stood waiting in seven thousand jars, and the gods came
with him to see how by his wisdom he would save mankind.
"Mingle the red ochre of Elephantine with the barley-beer," said Re, and it was done,
so that the beer gleamed red in the moonlight like the blood of men.
"Now take it to the place where Sekhmet proposes to slay men when the sun rises,"
said Re. And while it was still night the seven thousand jars of beer were taken and
poured out over the fields so that the ground was covered to the depth of nine inches -- three times the measure of the palm of a man's hand-with the strong beer, whose
other name is "sleep-maker".
When day came Sekhmet the terrible came also, licking her lips at the thought of the
men whom she would slay. She found the place flooded and no living creature in
sight; but she saw the beer which was the colour of blood, and she thought it was
blood indeed -- the blood of those whom she had slain.
Then she laughed with joy, and her laughter was like the roar of a lioness hungry for
the kill. Thinking that it was indeed blood, she stooped and drank. Again and yetagain she drank, laughing with delight; and the strength of the beer mounted to her
brain, so that she could no longer slay.
At last she came reeling back to where Re was waiting; that day she had not killed
even a single man.
7/29/2019 Aztec Creation Myths
22/44
Page 22 of44
Then Re said: "You come in peace, sweet one." And her name was changed to Hathor,
and her nature was changed also to the sweetness of love and the strength of desire.
And henceforth Hathor laid low men and women only with the great power of love.
But for ever after her priestesses drank in her honour of the beer of Heliopolis
coloured with the red ochre of Elephantine when they celebrated her festival each
New Year.
So mankind was saved, and Re continued to rule old though he was. But the time was
drawing near when he must leave the earth to reign for ever in the heavens, letting the
younger gods rule in his place. For dwelling in the form of a man, of a Pharaoh of
Egypt, Re was losing his wisdom; yet he continued to reign, and no one could take his
power from him, since that power dwelt in his secret name which none knew but
himself. If only anyone could discover his Name of Power, Re would reign no longer
on earth; but only by magic arts was this possible.
Geb and Nut had children: these were the younger gods whose day had come to rule, and their names were Osiris and Isis, Nephthys and Seth. Of these Isis was the wisest:
she was cleverer than a million men, her knowledge was greater than that of a million
of the noble dead. She knew all things in heaven and earth, except only for the Secret
Name of Re, and that she now set herself to learn by guile.
Now Re was growing older every day. As he passed across the land of Egypt his head
shook from side to side with age, his jaw trembled, and he dribbled at the mouth as do
the very old among men. As his spittle fell upon the ground it made mud, and this Isis
took in her hands and kneaded together as if it had been dough. Then she formed it
into the shape of a serpent, making the first cobra -- the uraeus, which ever after was
the symbol of royalty worn by Pharaoh and his queen.
Isis placed the first cobra in the dust of the road by which Re passed each day as he
went through his two kingdoms of Upper and Lower Egypt. As Re passed by the
cobra bit him and then vanished into the grass. But the venom of its bite coursed
through his veins, and for a while Re was speechless, save for one great cry of pain
which rang across the earth from the eastern to the western horizon. The gods who
followed him crowded round, asking: "What is it? What ails you?" But he could find
no words; his lips trembled and he shuddered in all his limbs, while the poison spread
over his body as the Nile spreads over Egypt at the inundation.
When at last he could speak, Re said: "Help me, you whom I have made. Something
has hurt me, and I do not know what it is. I created all things, yet this thing I did not
make. It is a pain such as I have never known before, and no other pain is equal to it.
Yet who can hurt me?-for none knows my Secret Name which is hidden in my heart,
giving me all power and guarding me against the magic of both wizard and witch.

Page 23 of44
Nevertheless as I passed through the world which I have created, through the two
lands that are my special care, something stung me. It is like fire, yet is not fire; it is
like water and not water. I burn and I shiver, while all my limbs tremble. So call
before me all the gods who have skill in healing and knowledge of magic, and wisdom
that reaches to the heavens."
Then all the gods came to Re, weeping and lamenting at the terrible thing which had
befallen him. With them came Isis, the healer, the queen of magic, who breathes the
breath of life and knows words to revive those who are dying. And she said:
"What is it, divine father? Has a snake bitten you. Has a creature of your own creating
lifted up its head against you? I will drive it out by the magic that is mine, and make it
tremble and fall down before your glory."
"I went by the usual way through my two lands of Egypt," answered Re, "for I wished
to look upon all that I had made. And as I went I was bitten by a snake which I did notsee -- a snake that, I had not created. Now I burn as if with fire and shiver as if my
veins were filled with water, and the sweat runs down my face it runs down the faces
of men on the hottest days of summer."
"Tell me your Secret Name." said Isis in a sweet, soothing voice. "Tell it me, divine
father; for only by speaking your name in my spells can I cure you."
Then Re spoke the many names that were his: "I am Maker Heaven and Earth." he
said. "I am Builder of the Mountains. I am Source of the Waters throughout all the
world. I am Light and Darkness. I am Creator of the Great River of Egypt. I am theKindler of the Fire that burns in the sky; yes, I am Khepera in the, morning, Re at the
noontide, and Tum in the evening."
But Isis said never a word, and the poison had its way in the veins of Re. For she
knew that he had told her only the names which all men knew, and that his Secret
Name, the Name of Power, still lay hidden in his heart.
At last she said: "You know well that the name which I need to learn is not among
those which you have spoken. Come, tell me the Secret Name; for if you do the
poison will come forth and you will have an end of pain."
The poison burned with a great burning, more powerful than any flame of fire, and Re
cried out at last: "Let the Name of Power pass from my heart into the heart of Isis! But
before it does, swear to me that you will tell it to no other save only the son whom you
will have, whose name shall be Horus. And bind him first with such an oath that the
name will remain with him and be passed on to no other gods or men."

24/44
Page 24 of44
Isis the great magician swore the oath, and the knowledge of the Name of Power
passed from the heart of Re into hers.
Then she said: "By the name which I know, let the poison go from Re for ever!"
So it passed from him and he had peace. But he reigned upon earth no longer. Insteadhe took his place in the high heavens, traveling each day across the sky in the likeness
of the sun itself, and by night crossing the underworld of Amenti in the Boat of Re
and passing through the twelve divisions of Duat where many dangers lurk.
Yet Re passes safely, and with him he takes those souls of the dead who know all the
charms and prayers and words that must be said. And so that a man might not go
unprepared for his voyage in the Boat of Re, the Egyptians painted all the scenes of
that journey on the walls of the tombs of the Pharaohs, with all the knowledge that
was written in The Book of the Dead, of which a copy was buried in the grave of
lesser men so that they too might read and come safely to the land beyond the westwhere the dead dwell.

Hindu Creation Myth
In Hindu philosophy, the existence of the universe is governed by the Trimurti of
Brahma (the Creator), Vishnu (the Sustainer) and Shiva (the Destroyer).
The sequence of Avatars of Vishnu- the Dasavatara (Sanskrit: Dasa-ten, Avatara-
incarnation) is generally accepted by most Hindus today as correlating well with
Darwin's theory of evolution, the first Avatar generating from the environment of
water.
Hindus thus do not see much conflict between creation and evolution. An additional
reason for this could also be the Hindu concept of cyclic time, such as yugas, or days
of Brahma in approximately 4.3 billion year cycles (unlike the concept of linear time
in many other religions). In fact, time is represented as Kaala Chakra - the Wheel of
Time. (alchemy wheel)

Page 26 of44
In Hinduism, nature and all of God's creations are manifestations of Him. He is within
and without his creations, pervading the entire universe and also observing it
externally. Hence all animals and humans have a divine element in them that is
covered by the ignorance and illusions of material or profane existence.
In earlier Vedic thinking, the universe was created by Hiranyagarbha (here interpretedas 'the golden embryo') or by Prajapati who was born from the Hiranyagarbha (here
interpreted as 'the golden womb'). Prajapati was later identified with the puranic
Brahma. Other gods are credited with acts of creation, primarily the act of propping
apart the sky and the Earth - gods who are said to have done this include Indra,
Varuna and Vishnu.
Another myth which began in late Rig-Vedic times with the Purusha Sukta hymn was
the story of the creation of the universe from the remains of the primaeval cosmic
male Purusha, who had sacrificed himself or been sacrificed by other primaeval
beings (not the most popular Vedic gods because they were said to have been bornfrom Purusha after the sacrifice) at the Purushamedha yajna.
According to Hindo Mythology creation happened gradually. The universe in
primitive form was made up of Ishwat Tattva, the Ishwar Tattva primarily spread
homogeniously throughout the universe.
Sar veshaktiman and Sarvevyapak, were some other names ofIshwar Tattva.
Purusha and Prakriti identifies as energy and matter, mixing of these two in different
ratios resulted in Sattva, Rajas and Tamas. Sattva having great amount of energy andlittle matter, Tamas having less energy and big matter, Rajas being in between, are
basic building blocks of our Universe.
Presently they can be interpreted as Electron, Proton and Neutron. These three basic
Gunas in different ratio made five elements, namad as Ether, Air, Fire, Water and
Earth. These five elements present in the universe can be observed directly by our Ten
Indriyas, five Gyanendriyans and five Karmendriyans.

The Vedic traditions of India tell us that we are now in the Fourth Age of mankind.
The Vedas call them the "The Golden Age", "The Silver Age", and "The Bronze Age"
and we are now, according to their scriptures in the "The Iron Age". As we approach
the end of the 20th century both Native Americans, Mayans, andIncans, propheciesclaim that we are coming to the end of an age.
The Vimanas - The Ramayana describes a Vimana as a double-deck, circular
(cylindrical) aircraft with portholes and a dome. It flew with the speed of the wind and
gave forth a melodious sound (a humming noise?). Ancient Indian texts on Vimanas
are so numerous it would take several books to relate what they have to say. The
ancient Indians themselves wrote entire flight manuals on the control of various types
of Vimanas, of which there were basically four: the Shakuna Vimana, the Sundara
Vimana, the Rukma Vimana and the Tripura Vimana.
The secret of constructing aeroplanes, which will not break, which cannot becut, will not catch fire, and cannot be destroyed.
The secret of making planes motionless. The secret of making planes invisible. The secret of hearing conversations and other sounds in enemy planes. The secret of receiving photographs of the interior of enemy planes. The secret of ascertaining the direction of enemy planes approach. The secret of making persons in enemy planes lose consciousness. The secret of destroying enemy planes.
Sanskrit texts are filled with references to Gods who fought battles in the sky using
Vimanas equipped with weapons as deadly as any we can deploy in these more
enlightened times. For example, there is a passage in the Ramayana which reads: The
Puspaka car that resembles the Sun and belongs to my brother was brought by the

powerful Ravan; that aerial and excellent car going everywhere at will.... that car
resembling a bright cloud in the sky.
".. and the King [Rama] got in, and the excellent car at the command of the Raghira,
rose up into the higher atmosphere."
In the Mahabharatra, an ancient Indian poem of enormous length, we learn that an
individual named Asura Maya had a Vimana measuring twelve cubits in
circumference, with four strong wheels. The poem is a veritable gold mine of
information relating to conflicts between gods who settled their differences apparently
using weapons as lethal as the ones we are capable of deploying.
Apart from 'blazing missiles', the poem records the use of other deadly weapons.
'Indra's Dart' operated via a circular 'reflector'. When switched on, it produced a 'shaft
of light' which, when focused on any target, immediately 'consumed it with its power'.
In one particular exchange, the hero, Krishna, is pursuing his enemy, Salva, in the sky,
when Salva's Vimana, the Saubha is made invisible in some way. Undeterred, Krishna
immediately fires off a special weapon: 'I quickly laid on an arrow, which killed by
seeking out sound'.
Many other terrible weapons are described, quite matter of factly, in the Mahabharata,
but the most fearsome of all is the one used against the Vrishis.
The narrative records:
Gurkha flying in his swift and powerful Vimana hurled against the three cities of the
Vrishis and Andhakas a single projectile charged with all the power of the Universe.
An incandescent column of smoke and fire, as brilliant as ten thousands suns, rose in
all its splendor. It was the unknown weapon, the Iron Thunderbolt, a gigantic
messenger of death which reduced to ashesthe entire race of the Vrishnis and
Andhakas.
It is important to note, that these kinds of records are not isolated. They can be cross-
correlated with similiar reports in other ancient civilizations. The after-affects of this
Iron Thunderbolt have an ominously recognizable ring. Apparently, those killed by itwere so burnt that their corpses were unidentifiable. The survivors fared little better,
as it caused their hair and nails to fall out.
Perhaps the most disturbing and challenging, information about these allegedly
mythical Vihmanas in the ancient records is that there are some matter-of-fact records,
describing how to build one. In their way, the instructions are quite precise.
7/29/2019 Aztec Creation Myths
29/44
Page 29 of44
In the Sanskrit Samarangana Sutradhara, it is written: Strong and durable must the
body of the Vihmana be made, like a great flying bird of light material. Inside one
must put the mercury engine with its iron heating apparatus underneath. By means of
the power latent in the mercury which sets the driving whirlwind in motion, a man
sitting inside may travel a great distance in the sky. The movements of the Vimana are
such that it can vertically ascend, vertically descend, move slanting forwards andbackwards. With the help of the machines human beings can fly in the air and
heavenly beings can come down to earth.
The Hakatha (Laws of the Babylonians) states quite unambiguously: The privilege of
operating a flying machine is great. The knowledge of flight is among the most
ancient of our inheritances. A gift from 'those from upon high'. We received it from
them as a means of saving many lives.
More fantastic still is the information given in the ancient Chaldean work, The Sifrala,
which contains over one hundred pages of technical details on building a flyingmachine. It contains words which translate as graphite rod, copper coils, crystal
indicator, vibrating spheres, stable angles, etc.

Many researchers into the UFO enigma tend to overlook a very important fact. While
it assumed that most flying saucers are of alien, or perhaps Governmental Military
origin, another possible origin of UFOs is ancient India and Atlantis. What we know
about ancient Indian flying vehicles comes from ancient Indian sources; written textsthat have come down to us through the centuries. There is no doubt that most of these
texts are authentic; many are the well known ancient Indian Epics themselves, and
there are literally hundreds of them. Most of them have not even been translated into
English yet from the old sanskrit.
The Indian Emperor Ashoka started a "Secret Society of the Nine Unknown Men":
great Indian scientists who were supposed to catalogue the many sciences. Ashoka
kept their work secret because he was afraid that the advanced science catalogued by
these men, culled from ancient Indian sources, would be used for the evil purpose of
war, which Ashoka was strongly against, having been converted to Buddhism afterdefeating a rival army in a bloody battle. The "Nine Unknown Men" wrote a total of
nine books, presumably one each. Book number was "The Secrets of Gravitation!"
This book, known to historians, but not actually seen by them dealt chiefly with
"gravity control." It is presumably still around somewhere, kept in a secret library in
India, Tibet or elsewhere (perhaps even in North America somewhere). One can
7/29/2019 Aztec Creation Myths
30/44
Page 30 of44
certainly understand Ashoka's reasoning for wanting to keep such knowledge a secret,
assuming it exists.
Ashoka was also aware of devastating wars using such advanced vehicles and other
"futuristic weapons" that had destroyed the ancient Indian "Rama Empire" several
thousand years before. Only a few years ago, the Chinese discovered some sanskritdocuments in Lhasa, Tibet and sent them to the University of Chandrigarh to be
translated. Dr. Ruth Reyna of the University said recently that the documents contain
directions for building interstellar spaceships! Their method of propulsion, she said,
was "anti- gravitational" and was based upon a system analogous to that of "laghima,"
the unknown power of the ego existing in man's physiological makeup, "a centrifugal
force strong enough to counteract all gravitational pull." According to Hindu Yogis, it
is this "laghima" which enables a person to levitate.
Dr. Reyna said that on board these machines, which were called "Astras" by the text,
the ancient Indians could have sent a detachment of men onto any planet, according tothe document, which is thought to be thousands of years old. The manuscripts were
also said to reveal the secret of "antima"; "the cap of invisibility" and "garima"; "how
to become as heavy as a mountain of lead." Naturally, Indian scientists did not take
the texts very seriously, but then became more positive about the value of them when
the Chinese announced that they were including certain parts of the data for study in
their space program! This was one of the first instances of a government admitting to
be researching anti-gravity.
The manuscripts did not say definitely that interplanetary travel was ever made but
did mention, of all things, a planned trip to the Moon, though it is not clear whether
this trip was actually carried out. However, one of the great Indian epics, the
Ramayana, does have a highly detailed story in it of a trip to the moon in a Vihmana
(or "Astra"), and in fact details a battle on the moon with an "Asvin" (or Atlantean")
airship. This is but a small bit of recent evidence of anti-gravity and aerospace
technology used by Indians.
To really understand the technology, we must go much further back in time. The so-
called "Rama Empire" of Northern India and Pakistan developed at least fifteen
thousand years ago on the Indian subcontinent and was a nation of many large,
sophisticated cities, many of which are still to be found in the deserts of Pakistan,
northern, and western India. Rama existed, apparently, parallel to the Atlantean
civilization in the mid- Atlantic Ocean, and was ruled by "enlightened Priest-Kings"
who governed the cities.
The seven greatest capital cities of Rama were known in classical Hindu texts as The
Seven Rishi Cities According to ancient Indian texts, the people had flying machines

Page 31 of44
which were called "Vimanas." The ancient Indian epic describes a Vimana as a
doubledeck, circular aircraft with portholes and a dome, much as we would imagine a
flying saucer. It flew with the "speed of the wind" and gave forth a"melodious sound."
There were at least four different types of Vimanas; some saucer shaped, others like
long cylinders ("cigar shaped airships"). The ancient Indian texts on Vimanas are so
numerous, it would take volumes to relate what they had to say. The ancient Indians, who manufactured these ships themselves, wrote entire flight manuals on the control
of the various types of Vimanas, many of which are still in existence, and some have
even been translated into English.
The Samara Sutradhara is a scientific treatise dealing with every possible angle of air
travel in a Vimana. There are 230 stanzas dealing with the construction, take-off,
cruising for thousand of miles, normal and forced landings, and even possible
collisions with birds. In 1875, the Vaimanika Sastra, a fourth century B.C. text written
by Bharadvajy the Wise, using even older texts as his source, was rediscovered in a
temple in India.
It dealt with the operation of Vimanas and included information on the steering,
precautions for long flights, protection of the airships from storms and lightning and
how to switch the drive to "solar energy" from a free energy source which sounds like
"anti-gravity." The Vaimanika Sastra (or Vymaanika-Shaastra) has eight chapters with
diagrams, describing three types of aircraft, including apparatuses that could neither
catch on fire nor break. It also mentions 31 essential parts of these vehicles and 16
materials from which they are constructed, which absorb light and heat; for which
reason they were considered suitable for the construction of Vimanas.
This document has been translated into English and is available by writing the
publisher: Vymaanidashaastra Aeronautics by Maharishi Bharadwaaja, translated into
English and edited, printed and published by Mr. G. R.Josyer, Mysore, India, 1979.
Mr. Josyer is the director of the International Academy of Sanskrit Investigation,
located in Mysore. There seems to be no doubt that Vimanas were powered by some
sort of "anti-gravity." Vimanas took off vertically, and were capable of hovering in the
sky, like a modern helicopter or dirigible. Bharadvajy the Wise refers to no less than
seventy authorities and 10 experts of air travel in antiquity.
These sources are now lost. Vimanas were kept in a Vimana Griha, a kind of hanger,
and were sometimes said to be propelled by a yellowish-white liquid, and sometimes
by some sort of mercury compound, though writers seem confused in this matter. It is
most likely that the later writers on Vimanas, wrote as observers and from earlier
texts, and were understandably confused on the principle of their propulsion. The
"yellowish- white liquid" sounds suspiciously like gasoline, and perhaps Vimanas had

a number of different propulsion sources, including combustion engines and even
"pulse-jet" engines.
It is interesting to note, that the Nazis developed the first practical pulse-jet engines
for their V-8 rocket "buzz bombs." Hitler and the Nazi staff were exceptionally
interested in ancient India and Tibet and sent expeditions to both these places yearly, starting in the 30's, in order to gather esoteric evidence that they did so, and perhaps it
was from these people that the Nazis gained some of their scientific information!
According to the Dronaparva, part of the Mahabarata, and the Ramayana, one Vimana
described was shaped like a sphere and born along at great speed on a mighty wind
generated by mercury. It moved like a UFO, going up, down, backwards and forwards
as the pilot desired.
In another Indian source, the Samar, Vimanas were "iron machines, well-knit and
smooth, with a charge of mercury that shot out of the back in the form of a roaringflame." Another work called the Samaranganasutradhara describes how the vehicles
were constructed. It is possible that mercury did have something to do with the
propulsion, or more possibly, with the guidance system. Curiously, Soviet scientists
have discovered what they call "ageold instruments used in navigating cosmic
vehicles" in caves in Turkestan and the Gobi Desert. The "devices" are hemispherical
objects of glass or porcelain, ending in a cone with a drop of mercury inside.
It is evident that ancient Indians flew around in these vehicles, all over Asia, to
Atlantis presumably; and even, apparently, to South America. Writing found at
Mohenjodaro in Pakistan (presumed to be one of the "Seven Rishi Cities of the RamaEmpire") and still undeciphered, has also been found in one other place in the world:
Easter Island! Writing on Easter Island, called Rongo-Rongo writing, is also
undeciphered, and is uncannily similar to the Mohenjodaro script.
Was Easter Island an air base for the Rama Empire's Vimana route? (At the Mohenjo-
Daro Vimana-drome, as the passenger walks down the concourse, he hears the sweet,
melodic sound of the announcer over the loudspeaker,"Rama Airways flight number
seven for Bali, Easter Island, Nazca, and Atlantis is now ready for boarding.
Passengers please proceed to gate number..") in Tibet, no small distance, and speaks
of the "fiery chariot" thus: "Bhima flew along in his car, resplendent as the sun andloud as thunder... The flying chariot shone like a flame in the night sky of summer... it
swept by like a comet... It was as if two suns were shining. Then the chariot rose up
and all the heaven brightened."
In the Mahavira of Bhavabhuti, a Jain text of the eighth century culled from older
texts and traditions, we read: "An aerial chariot, the Pushpaka, conveys many people

to the capital of Ayodhya. The sky is full of stupendous flying-machines, dark as
night, but picked out by lights with a yellowish glare." The Vedas, ancient Hindu
poems, thought to be the oldest of all the Indian texts, describe Vimanas of various
shapes and sizes: the "ahnihotravimana" with two engines, the"elephant-vimana" with
more engines, and other types named after the kingfisher, ibis and other animals.
Unfortunately, Vimanas, like most scientific discoveries, were ultimately used for
war. Atlanteans used their flying machines, "Vailixi," a similar type of aircraft, to
literally try and subjugate the world, it would seem, if Indian texts are to be believed.
The Atlanteans, known as "Asvins" in the Indian writings, were apparently even more
advanced technologically than the Indians, and certainly of a more war-like
temperament. Although no ancient texts on Atlantean Vailixi are known to exist, some
information has come down through esoteric, "occult" sources which describe their
flying machines.
Similar, if not identical to Vimanas, Vailixi were generally "cigar shaped" and had the
capability of manoeuvering underwater as well as in the atmosphere or even outer
space. Other vehicles, like Vimanas, were saucer shaped, and could apparently also be
submerged.
According to Eklal Kueshana, author of "The Ultimate Frontier," in an article he
wrote in 1966:
Vailixi were first developed in Atlantis 20,000 years ago, and the most common ones
are "saucer shaped of generally trapezoidal cross- section with three hemisphericalengine pods on the underside. They use a mechanical antigravity device driven by
engines developing approximately 80,000 horse power. The Ramayana, Mahabarata
and other texts speak of the hideous war that took place, some ten or twelve thousand
years ago between Atlantis and Rama using weapons of destruction that could not be
imagined by readers until the second half of this century.
The ancient Mahabharata, one of the sources on Vimanas, goes on to tell the awesome
destructiveness of the war: "...
(the weapon was) a single projectilecharged with all the power of the Universe. Anincandescent column of smoke and flame as bright as the thousand suns rose in all its
splendor. An iron thunderbolt, a gigantic messenger of death, which reduced to ashes
the entire race of the Vrishnis and the Andhakas. The corpses were so burned as to be
unrecognizable.

Page 34 of44
The hair and nails fell out; pottery broke without apparent cause, and the birds turned
white.... after a few hours all foodstuffs were infected.... to escape from this fire, the
soldiers threw themselves in streams to wash themselves and their equipment..." It
would seem that the Mahabharata is describing an atomic war! References like this
one are not isolated; but battles, using a fantastic array of weapons and aerial vehicles
are common in all the epic Indian books. One even describes a Vimana-Vailix battleon the Moon! The above section very accurately describes what an atomic explosion
would look like and the effects of the radioactivity on the population. Jumping into
water is the only respite.
When the Rishi City of Mohenjodaro was excavated by archaeologists in the last
century, they found skeletons just lying in the streets, some of them holding hands, as
if some great doom had suddenly overtaken them. These skeletons are among the
most radioactive ever found, on a par with those found at Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Ancient cities whose brick and stonewalls have literally been vitrified, that is-fused
together, can be found in India, Ireland, Scotland, France, Turkey and other places.
There is no logical explanation for the vitrification of stone forts and cities, except
from an atomic blast.
Futhermore, at Mohenjo-Daro, a well planned city laid on a grid, with a plumbing
system superior to those used in Pakistan and India today, the streets were littered
with "black lumps of glass." These globs of glass were discovered to be clay pots that
had melted under intense heat! With the cataclysmic sinking of Atlantis and the
wiping out of Rama with atomic weapons, the world collapsed into a "stone age" of
sorts, and modern history picks up a few thousand years later Yet, it would seem that
not all the Vimanas and Vailixi of Rama and Atlantis were gone. Built to last for
thousands of years, many of them would still be in use, as evidenced by Ashoka's
"Nine Unknown Men" and the Lhasa manuscript.
That secret societies or "Brotherhoods" of exceptional, "enlightened" human beings
would have preserved these inventions and the knowledge of science, history, etc.,
does not seem surprising. Many well known historical personages including Jesus,
Buddah, Lao Tzu, Confucious, Krishna, Zoroaster, Mahavira, Quetzalcoatl,
Akhenaton, Moses, and more recent inventors and of course many other people who
will probably remain anonymous, were probably members of such a secret
organization.
It is interesting to note that when Alexander the Great invaded India more than two
thousand years ago, his historians chronicled that at one point they were attacked by
"flying, fiery shields" that dove at his army and frightened the cavalry. These "flying
saucers" did not use any atomic bombs or beam weapons on Alexander's army
however, perhaps out of benevolence, and Alexander went on to conquer India.

It has been suggested by many writers that these "Brotherhoods" keep some of their
Vimanas and Vailixi in secret caverns in Tibet or some other place is Central Asia,
and the Lop Nor Desert in western China is known to be the center of a great UFO
mystery. Perhaps it is here that many of the airships are still kept, in underground
bases much as the Americans, British and Soviets have built around the world in the
past few decades. Still, not all UFO activity can be accounted for by old Vimanasmaking trips to the Moon for some reason.
Unknown alloys have been revealed in the ancient palm leaf manuscripts. The writer
and Sanskrit scholar Subramanyam Iyer has spent many years of his life deciphering
old collections of palm leaves found in the villages of his native Karnataka in southern
India.
One of the palm leaf manuscripts they intend to decipher is the Amsu Bodhini, which,
according to an anonymous text of 1931, contains information about the planets; the
different kinds of light, heat, color, and electromagnetic fields; the methods used toconstruct machines capable of attracting solar rays and, in turn, of analysing and
separating their energy components; the possibility of conversing with people in
remote places and sending messages by cable; and the manufacture of machines to
transport people to other planets! Contributed by John Burrows
Another Myth
This universe existed in the shape of darkness, unperceived, destitute of distinctive
marks, unattainable by reasoning, unknowable, wholly immersed, as it were, in deep
sleep.
Then the Divine Self-existent, himself indiscernible but making all this, the great
elements and the rest, discernible, appeared with irresistible power, dispelling the
darkness.
He who can be perceived by the internal organ alone, who is subtle, indiscernible, and
eternal, who contains all created beings and is inconceivable, shone forth of his own
will.

He, desiring to produce beings of many kinds from his own body, first with a thought
created the waters, and placed his seed in them.
That seed became a golden egg, in brilliancy equal to the sun; in that egg he himself
was born as Brahma, the progenitor of the whole world....
The Divine One resided in that egg during a whole year, then he himself by his
thought divided it into two halves;
And out of those two halves he formed heaven and earth, between them the middle
sphere, the eight points of the horizon, and the eternal abode of the waters.
From himself he also drew forth the mind, which is both real and unreal, likewise
from the mind ego, which possesses the function of self-consciousness and is lordly.
Moreover, the great one, the soul, and all products affected by the three qualities, and,in their order, the five organs which perceive the objects of sensation.
But, joining minute particles even of those six, which possess measureless power,
with particles of himself, he created all beings.
The India myth is essentially the same as the stories of Ziusudra, Utnapishtim, and
Noah. Like thoseflood heroes, Manu (the protagonist) receives supernatural help and
is saved by remaining in a ship until he is able to tie up on an Indian version of Mount
Ararat. This story is told in the Shatapatha-Brahmana.

Hungarian Creation Myth
The seeds of the Holy Sea break out of your shell.
The eternal sea's waves are waving, and rolling.
Their waves are rocking and their foam is hissing. There is no earth yet anywhere, but in the immeasurable heights,
Above in his golden house,
sits the great heavenly father on his golden throne.
He is the old, white haired and white bearded God of eternity.
On his black robes there are thousands of sparkling stars.
Besides him sits his wife, the Great Heavenly Mother.
On her white robes (palast) there are thousands of sparkling stars.
She is the ancient material of which everything is made. They have existed from eternity in the past
and will exist for all eternity to come.
In front of them stands their beautiful golden sunbeam haired son,
The sun God Magyar. The boy asks of his father:
"When shall we create the world of the humans my dear father?"
The Eternal Sea just waves and rolls.
Its waves are rocking and its foam is hissing.
The old gray-haired heavenly father lowers his head.He ponders the question a while and a little longer,
Then he lifts his white haired head and talks to his son.
-- My dear sweet golden haired son, let us create then
For the humans their own world, so that they, who will be
Your children shall have a place to live in.
-- How shall we create such a world, my dear father?
-- This is the manner in which we can create it:
In the depths of the waving, blue Sea of Eternity are the
Sleeping eyes (seeds), sleeping seeds [sem=eye/small seed]
The sleeping Magya's [ Mag=seed, Magyar=man].

Descend therefore to the depths of the Great Sea.
Bring up the sleeping seeds and dreaming eyes, so that
We can create a world out of them.
The son followed the direction of his father.
He turned himself into his image of a golden bird, into a golden diving duck. Then he flew down to the expanses of the Endless Sea.
He swam for a while on top of the water,
Rocked by the waves of the sea for a while.
He then dived down into the depths of the blue,
Searching for the bottom, but unable to reach it.
Out of breath, he was forced to resurface.
He swam on top again, rocked by the waves,
He gathered his strength, for a long time. After taking deep breaths he submerged again into the blue depths,
Diving deeper, into the darkness, slowly releasing his air
Which like vibrating pearls rose to the top
and popped on the surface of the rolling sea.
However now his beak hit the bottom of the sea, into its sand.
He took some of it into his beak and like an arrow,
He shot up to the top of the water with it
From the surface of the sea bed, he brought up the
Sleeping eyes/seeds, silver white "ugyucske" [small eyes?].
The sleeping eyes awoke, the sleepy eyes opened
and grew up and became living beings.

Inca Creation Myths
Viracocha
Gateway of the Sun
The Incan account of creation is known based on what was recorded by priests, from
the iconography on Incan pottery and architecture, and the myths and legends which
survived amongst the native peoples. According to these accounts, in the most ancient
of times the earth was covered in darkness.

Page 41 of44
Then, out of a lake called Collasuyu (modern Titicaca), the god Con Tiqui Viracocha
emerged, bringing some human beings with him. Then Con Tiqui created the sun
(Inti), the moon and the stars to light the world. It is from Inti that the Sapa Inca,
emperor of Tawantin Suyu, is descended. Out of great rocks Con Tiqui fashioned
more human beings, including women who were already pregnant.
Then he sent these people off into every corner of the world. He kept a male and
female with him at Cusco, the "navel of the world."
Con, the Creator; was in the form of a man without bones. He filled the earth with
good things to supply the needs of the first humans.
The people, however, forgot Con's goodness to them and rebelled. So he punished
them by stopping the rainfall. The miserable people were forced to work hard,
drawing what little water they could find from stinking, drying riverbeds.
Then a new god, Pachacamac, came and drove Con out, changing his people into
monkeys. Pachacamac then took earth and made the ancestors of human beings.
The founder of the first dynasty of the kingdom of Cuzco was Manco Capac.
In one legend he was brought up from the depths of Lake Titicaca by the sun god Inti.
In another he was the son of Tici Viracocha.
However commoners were not allowed to speak the name of Viracocha, which is
possibly an explanation for the need for two foundation legends. In one myth MancoCapac was the brother of Pachacamac, both were sons of the sun god Inti who is also
known as Apu Punchau.
Manco Capac himself was worshiped as a fire and sun god. According to the Inti
legend, Manco Capac and his siblings were sent up to the earth by the sun god and
emerged from the cave of Pacaritambo carrying a golden staff, called 'tapac-yauri'.
They were instructed to create a Temple of the Sun in the spot where the staff sank
into the earth, they traveled to Cusco via underground caves, and built a temple in
honor of the sun god Inti, their father. During the journey to Cuzco, one of Manco'sbrothers, and possibly one of his sisters, were turned to stone (huaca).
In another version of this legend, instead of emerging from a cave in Cuzco, the
siblings instead emerged from the waters of Lake Titicaca.
