DAY 1: ARRIVE CAIRNS
Arrive today in Cairns. You will meet your Tour Director and be
introduced to Cairns, gateway to the reef and the rainforest.
Tonight, enjoy dinner and a cultural show at TJAPUKAI
ABORIGINAL CULTURAL PARK. (B,D)
DAY 2: CAIRNS
Experience the wonder of the Great Barrier Reef today on
your full day tour to the LOW ISLES. Learn about the reef
on a GLASS BOTTOM BOAT TOUR, a GUIDED WALK
around the island, and if you like, SNORKELING over the
magnificent coral. Tonight have some free time to find
a local restaurant, or perhaps find some souvenirs at the
Night Markets. (B)
DAY 3: CAIRNS
Explore the tropical rainforest today with a visit to KURANDA
village. Take the SKYRAIL through the canopy and participate
in a GUIDED WALK with a Ranger to learn more. This
evening, enjoy the opportunity to see, pet and learn more
about Australia’s native animals, before dinner amongst the
inhabitants at CAIRNS TROPICAL ZOO. (B,D)
DAY 4: CAIRNS - SYDNEY
Take a flight to Sydney, arriving in time for the TRIBAL
WARRIORS CRUISE, where you will find out more about the
indigenous inhabitants of beautiful Sydney, before a chance for
some free time in the bustling hub of Darling Harbour. (B)
DAY 5: SYDNEY
Start your day with a CITY TOUR of Sydney, including a tour of
the SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE. Join the volunteer Lifesavers at
world famous BONDI BEACH and learn about their role before
a guided walking tour through THE ROCKS, the oldest part of
the city. (B)
DAY 6: SYDNEY
A full day to enjoy Sydney at your own pace, or perhaps to join
our Optional Excursion to the Blue Mountains. (B)
DAY 7: SYDNEY - CANBERRA
This morning, depart for your drive to Canberra, the nations’
Capital. Learn about the Australian system of government
from your Tour Director during the drive, then on arrival
AUSTRALIAN WAR MEMORIAL, where you will hear of the
bravery and sacrifice of the soldiers. Dinner tonight is at a local
restaurant. (B,D)
DAY 8: CANBERRA - SYDNEY
Take a train ride back to Sydney this morning. Comfortable
seats will be reserved for you on the XPT service, and your
Tour Director will ride with you. On arrival in Sydney, enjoy some
free time in the city, before meeting up with the group again
for a FAREWELL DINNER hosted by your Tour Director this
evening. This is a chance to swap stories and photographs and
celebrate your wonderful Australian vacation. (B,D)
DAY 9: SYDNEY
Your homebound flight arrives the same day you leave, due to
the International Date Line. (B)
