ABOUTAHESThe Australian Health Economics Society (AHES) is the peak representative industry body forhealth economics professionals in Australia.

The aim of AHES is to promote the study, practice and development of health economics inAustralia, and the role of health economics analysis in informing policy and health practice inAustralia and internationally

AHES supports virtual and face-to-face networking and knowledge dissemination formembers and interested colleagues, with a particular focus on new researchers. AHES is anadvocate for the key role of health economics research and analysis in improving the healthand welfare of the population and the performance of the health system.

Members of AHES are drawn from across Australia, New Zealand and internationally. Ourannual conference regularly draws presenters and attendees from around Australia andaround the world.

Itbringstogetherpeoplefromacademia,governmentandindustrytodiscussthechallengescurrentlyfacedbyourhealthsystem,andthelatestresearchinhealtheconomics.

ThisyearwehavetwokeynotespeakersfromtheUSandEuropetoprovideinsightsintocontemporaryresearchonhealthandwellbeing,andimprovingvalueformoneyin

thehealthcaresystem.

Inaddition,wehaveaspecialsessiononprogresswithintheMBSReview,tobedeliveredbyProfessorAdamElshaug (anMBSReviewTaskforcemember).Thiswillincludeapaneldiscussiononpotentialresearchopportunitiesforthehealtheconomicscommunity.

Thebi-annual AustralianHealthEconomicsawardwillbeannouncedforthebesthealtheconomicsjournalarticlebyanAustralianresearcher.
