Area Attractions
Anantara Baan Rajprasong, located on Rajdamri Rd, is
at the crossways of the city – surrounding parks and
lawns and the resulting serenity (a rare commodity
in Bangkok) contradict the fact that Anantara Baan
Rajprasong is in the heart of Bangkok.
Exciting Sukhumvit Road is on one end, while bargain
hunters’ paradise Pratunam is practically next door.
The shopping havens of Siam Square and the National
Stadium are around the corner, while the Sathorn
business district is just up the road.
Just steps away from Anantara Baan Rajprasong, the
Ratchadamri BTS Skytrain will take you to most of the
places you should visit – although a quick stroll will have
you within all the prime shopping, dining and renowned
recreation areas of Bangkok. Some of the places to visit
are listed here:
• The famed Erawan Temple next to Erawan Plaza has
visitors from all over the world coming to pay their
respects while beautifully adorned dancers perform
for Hindu god Brahma here.
• Central World has all that you’d ever need in the
way of everything – shopping, dining, entertainment
and more.
• Nightlife in the infamous Patpong area on Silom Rd
(an extension of Ratchadamri Rd) never fails
to entertain.
• Langsuan and Sarasin streets are home to local pubs,
bars and restaurants.
• Villa Supermarket is open from 7am-10pm and
100 metres down the road.
• Next door to Anantara Baan Rajprasong is Lumpini
park. A stroll here will refresh and re-invigorate – join
the free tai chi lessons in the mornings or the aerobics
and dance sessions in the evenings; you can even hire
a boat and paddle around the picturesque lakes here.

Location
Gold and jewel-embedded ceilings house
emerald Buddhas and centuries of royal
heritage. Traditional Thai desserts change
hands from a canalside vendor to hungry
office workers on their way to a business
meeting. Sultry heat and fiery spice abound,
and yet the city pulses with an energy
that can only be described as cool. A
cosmopolitan city of 10 million, Bangkok
is where fashions, tastes, senses and cultures
come together in a heady fusion found
nowhere else on earth.
There is no shortage of things to do and
see in Bangkok – and Anantara Baan
Rajprasong, situated just steps away from the
Ratchadamri station of the city’s comfortable
and efficient BTS Skytrain system, means that
you are never more than a 20-minute ride
from world-renowned culinary experiences,
unique culture, unbeatable shopping
bargains – and just about everything else
the city has to offer.
Young jewellery and fashion designers set
new trends on one end of the Chatuchak
weekend market while hard-to-resist Asian
antiques at bargain prices are displayed at the
other – just one of the many contrasts of old
and new you’ll encounter in Bangkok.
The spectacular Vimanmek Teakwood Palace
Museum transports visitors back through
Thailand’s royal history, while the Grand
Palace highlights Thai culture and legend and
serves as a spectacular example of Thai art
and architecture. Across the river, Wat Arun
– The Temple of Dawn – rises up against the
glimmering orange of the morning sky.
Shopping is a must in Bangkok, and
Ratchadamri Road, home to Anantara
Baan Rajprasong, is at the hub of the city’s
commercial centre. All the world’s luxury
brands are housed in three department stores
located just around the corner – Gaysorn
Plaza and Erawan Plaza are across from each
other on the corner of Sukhumvit Road and
Ratchadamri Road, while the Regent Plaza
is on Ratchadamri itself. Meanwhile, Central
World and Siam Paragon, two of Asia’s largest
shopping and lifestyle centres, have all that
you’d ever need, from shopping to dining
and entertainment, all under one roof.
A city of colours and
contrasts
