While function is preferred over appearance, an ugly part of the body can lower self esteem.

Futuristic movies and television depict beautiful and functional prosthetics.

Once performance is mastered, beauty should be the next step; this is considered cosmesis.

visual appeal. The joints are made in a way to give more mobility than a regular human arm. This design is still in the Prototype phase.
