understand – ALL said yes• When asked if they agreed with the rubric
rating – 19 said yes, 1 said not sure, NO no’s. • When asked about if they would rather video
their observation and have the administrator review the video or have the administrator do a on site observation ALL said on site.
Teacher Thoughts cont.
• When asked their thoughts on revamping the teacher evaluation program – answers varied
• A few thought it was a good idea.• Several thought the old system used was fine – the problem
was the way it was used. • A couple thought test scores should weigh more on teacher
evaluation so glad the portfolio part was a part of this system.• One stated that if professional development is determined by
the results of the evaluation then it’s a positive change.• One expressed concern that the evaluator might be bias.
Favorite teacher comment -• What are your thoughts on the state revamping the
teacher evaluation program? “It appears that it is very relevant to improving
instruction. The state department did an excellent job in presenting the evaluation as a positive useful tool for us to use. While there is a great deal of material to read and new terminology – it correlated classroom learning-improving in all aspects planning, environment, instruction and professional responsibilities. “
