Microbiological Formation PreventionIn order to enhance the on-site curative actions (chlorine or
thermal shock), which do not guarantee a reduction of the
contamination long term, make sure to follow the instructions
below.
Do not forget to contact ArjoHuntleigh for the annual Preventive
Maintenance visit.
Installation precautions
In order to limit the growth of bacterial flora, it is necessary
to take action at four levels: Avoid stagnating water and make sure proper water
circulation;
Take precautions against the formation of scale andcorrosion based on the water quality;
Maintain a high water temperature all the way fromthe hot water dispenser to the different distributionpipes;
Mix hot and cold water as close as possible to thepoint of use.
Use
Make sure that the water circulates in the bath andthe shower on a daily basis even if the bath tub is notused; and particular to make sure to remove anywater that may be left behind in the hose.
Let the water flow approximately 5 minutes before the
first bath of the day. Clean and disinfect the bath tub according to the IFU
before the first bath of the day and after the bath ofeach resident.

Daily
Disinfect. Freedom Bathhas to be cleaned immediately
after use. Standard disinfection agents and shampoos should
be used in recommended concentrations. Clean door strip/seal and under the tub:
Instruction for non lift accessible version of Freedom Bathonly: To make area at lower part of the door and under tubaccessible for cleaning, perform following procedure:(See Fig. 1-2)
1 Hold the door up and door down buttons pressed
simultaneously for 30 seconds, until the temperature display
starts flashing.
2 Press the door down button. The door will move under
the tub, leaving the lower part of the strip/seal and the area
under the tub free for cleaning. Take caution at this
operation as the crush protection is off. The protection is
automatically activated again after one minute.
Weekly Visually check all exposed parts.Make sure no cracks or
sharp edges could cause the resident or caregiver injury.
Check door seal:Check the seal for cracks or other
damage. Check along the complete length that it is not
twisted, shown as (B) in the illustration. Correct placementis shown as (A). (See Fig. 3)

Visually check hoses, pipes and connections:
Remove the left and right cover by removing the screws and
lifting the covers upwards. Visually inspect for leaks of any
kind on hoses, pipes, connection and drain. (See Fig. 4)
Perform functionality test:Test all panel functions and
disinfection options. With water on: check shower hose and
shower handle for damage - replace if defect. Empty and clean accumulated water and dirt from the
drain pan under the tub:
Clean the suction filter from dirt and/or lime build up on the
surface of the net.
Visually check the support strap.Check the complete
length for fraying, cuts, crack, tears, that no inner fabric is
showing and that no other damage is visible. If the strap is
found damaged, replace it.
Monthly Check/clean filters incoming water (with mixer):
A rinsing valve with a filter is mounted on each of the
two water supply hoses found under the left front cover.
The filter should be rinsed in both valves as follows:
1 Remove the left cover by removing the screws and lifting it
upwards. (See Fig. 4)
2 Close the valves. The handles (red for hot water and blue for
cold) should be in a cross position
(See Fig. 5).
3 Remove the cap (A)with a wrench. (See Fig. 5)
4 Pull out the filter (B)and clean it carefully in water.
(See Fig. 5)5 Reassemble the filter.
6 Fit the cap.
Exercise the thermostat mixer:
Turn the temperature control knob back and forth over the
whole temperature range. This is particularly important in
areas with hard water. (See Fig. 6)
Yearly
Freedom Bath must be serviced according to thePreventive Maintenance Schedule (Qualified Personnel Action/

For transmitter rated at a maximum output power not listed above, the recommended separation distance d in
metres (m) can be estimated using the equation applicable to the frequency of the transmitter, where P is the
maximum output power rating of the transmitter in watts (W) according to the transmitter manufacturer.
NOTE 1 At 80 MHz and 800 MHz, the separation distance for the higher frequency range applies.
NOTE 2 These guidelines may not apply in all situations. Electromagnetic propagation is affected by
absorption and reflection from structures, objects and people.
