A three wheeler is a vehicle with three wheels, either "people-powered vehicles" (PPV) or motorized vehicles in the form of a motorcycle, ATV or automobile. Other names for three-wheelers include Trikes, Tricars and Cyclecars. The term Tricycle is used somewhat interchangeably, but the term three-wheeler is more often applied to motor vehicles.

THREE-WHEEL CAR

Advantages :

-Much lower turning radius

- One wheel less than a conventional four-wheel car hence easier to conceptualize and construct

-More fuel-efficient

-Has the same ergonomics and seating capacity as that of a four-wheel car

THREE WHEEL BIKE

Advantages :

-More stability

-No chance of roll over

-More passenger protection

-Possibility of luggage space

CRITICAL VIEWS

-Why 3 wheels instead of 2 ?

Many motorcyclists will reject 3-Wheelers because there's an added useless wheel and they don't lean in curves. So why keep on trying to use a useless added wheel, further considering that it will cost more?

-Why 3 wheels instead of 4 ?

A 4-Wheeler is more stable in curves than a 3-Wheeler.  So why keep on trying to use one less wheel ?

Project phases and schedule :

-Case study on various three-wheeler vehicle configurations(Aug 07’ to Dec 07’)

-Design, validation and market response study of a recreational three-wheeler vehicle for a target market(Aug 07’ to Dec 07’)

-Fabrication and testing of the above said vehicle(Jan 08’)
