exVETRO proposed a general, long-term vision that could enclose all of the social, bureaucratic and economical limits of the case study. A project of functional and technological regeneration based in Parma. The aim was to give new identity to the landmark represented by the two remaining smokestacks while creating a new leading pole in craftsmanship, cross-programming it with cultural and citizen-first services. The project tried to fit in the existing situation, which was represented by two great restraints: an

maximum investment set at euro 2.6M for the whole regeneration, and a cultural one concerning the limits set by the supervising committee, which actually protected the last standing buildings from demolition. The project proposal was developed in three distinct phases, both temporal and functional in character: the regeneration was made up of small and quick interventions, so that the costs could be distributed on the long haul while the new polarity was being absorbed by the ever-changing context. Every step of the exVETRO process was autonomous from the operative stand point; yet each one of the little interventions actually supported the following ones. By doing so phase I fostered the sowing and growing of phase II, which was essential to the
conclusive phase III.

? !The task: "to design a structure on the Øya festival site in Oslo that could function as a meeting point and attraction that communicates a sustainable statement. The project should present an immersive experience within the structure itself (...)". Taking inspiration from one of Edgar Morin's essays, we decided to design a flexible relax area connected to a floating ball: the more people would come to sit on the elastic nets, the lower the ball would hover, hence representing the social footprint of the
festival guests.

We were asked to redesign the Circus Maximus area, taking into account the ongoing archeological research and focusing mostly on the meaning of the
word "event". The project hits five different spots on site, its aim is to prepare the urban void to host a variable number of guests
and all of their different activities.

An old theater, declared unusable.We opted for a prebuilt plug-in, a flexible and reversible concept that could fit all of the possible needs of the population. The structure was designed in XLAM and the only original component we decided to get rid of

The task was to design a comfortable home for a family of four members.
A great emphasis was given to finding good reference projects, as well as following the basic sustainable concepts. Completely detached from the ground, the main living floors sat
floating on a set of pillars.The whole architectural body was then enclosed by a set of fixed and mobile
brise-soleil, which quickly becamethe main architectural feature.

During my first internship, I mainly had two tasks: preparing presentations for clients' meetings and creating powerful images that could showcase the potential of the re:CS office. I worked on two very different projects, the first
one based in Parma, Italy andthe second one set in Baotou, China. On a daily basis I had stimulating conversations with the chief architect regarding work and architecture in general , thus making it a very worthy
experience.
Once my assistant duties were over at Uni, I was invited to join LAB - a young architecture studio based in Reggio Emilia. I had the opportunity to work on many different projects, at various scales: I participated in the design of a spa in Tuscany, a wellness center in Milan, offices in Reggio and even an aquatic park close to the seaside. My assignments varied from setting presentations up to sketching layouts, but I was mainly involved in detailed
drawings for building purposes.

During my Erasmus year in Denmark, I had the opportunity to intern at KRADS, a young architectural office based both
in Aarhus and Reykjavìk. Working abroad was a true blessing, since I got to experience the Danish design process. I mainly worked on Kolind+, a renovation project of an old gym into a multiactivity center. My tasks span from physical modelling to images rendering, to setting
presentations up for meetings.

Being part of an active coworking space while in Denmark, I had the opportunity to see other offices at work.The one that struck me the most was a marketing and branding design firm: I was attracted by their working method and by the importance of the mental process lying behind a logo or a motto.

Photography is just one of the passions I recently discovered. I mainly use photography for two reasons: as a study tool - to further explicit existing relationships that I can't quite catch in real time; and as an abstraction instrument - catching objects out of their usual context, hence giving them a new meaning, direct or metaphorical. Michele Montali, italian, 26.
Born and raised in "la petite capitale", Parma (IT), also known as
the "Italian food valley".
In my early years I had the opportunity of traveling; since then I never quite
stopped doing it.
Being at ease in most places, I was lucky to be able to call home Ferrara (IT), Milford (USA) and Aarhus (DK).
Sports always played a key role in my life. They turn my competitiveness on,
and I feel comfortable when challenged.
Picking architecture as a career was a no brainer, but only recently I surrendered and fell in love with it.
We have the tools and meansto shape what is not there yet;
to reorganize spaceand society while doing so.
That is a great power to have.
It is a fundamental role in today's world and I definitely want to be part of the equation that makes it a better place.
