We Welcome Our New Members!
moriahcenter@gmail.com
Dear Friends,
Moriah is CLOSED for Passover on April 1st and 2
nd and we look forward to greeting all our
friends again when we re-open on Wednesday, April 3rd.
During the month of April, Moriah staff will be distributing barcoded key tags to all of our
clients. Please read the article on the following page for more information.
We start the month off in rousing style as Cantor Eric Freeman presents another toe-
tapping Music Monday on April 8th at 2 pm. We all need a little music in our days!
Our Book Club selected a longer book for reading over the Passover break. We will be
discussing The Forgotten Garden on Monday, April 15th at 2 pm. It’s never too late to join
in and borrow a book from our collection. More exciting titles are coming down the pike.
Our April Birthday Party will be held this month on Wednesday, April 17th. Don’t forget to
bring in those “way back when…” photos if your birthday falls in February, March or April.
It’s always fun to be included in the birthday slideshow.
Moriah will be open for a PICK UP LUNCH at 10:30 am on Sunday, April 21st.
Monday, April 22nd
Bette Grossman will do another beading project with our seniors. Sign
up early in the office to reserve your spot in this always oversubscribed activity.
On Monday, April 29th
we will be offering Massage Therapy. Sign up in the office at your
earliest convenience for your preferred time slot.
As always, join us for Enhanced Computer Lab with Technology Playground on
Wednesdays, Exercise Classes on Wednesdays & Thursdays and Yoga on Friday
morning.

GIFTING YOUR UNNEEDED MEDICAL SUPPLIES
Do you have an old pair of crutches cluttering up your front hall closet? What
about that walker blocking the back hallway, or the unused shower chair taking up space in the bathroom?
These items can be gifted to people who truly need them and may not be able
to afford them. Yad Sarah is a non-profit organization that accepts donations of medical equipment in excellent condition and gives them to those in need.
Following is a short “wish list” of items they accept:
Walkers (all kinds: telescopic, regular, with/without wheels, triangular,
folding, child)
Patient hoists
Quad canes, straight canes
Crutches
Infusion poles
Commodes on wheels, shower proof commodes and those that can
also roll over toilet seats
Shower chairs, bath benches
Infant scales (only if they show weight in kg and grams)
They cannot accept: disposable items i.e. chux pads, adult
diapers, glucose monitoring strips.
used standard wheelchairs
prosthetics
They are very interested in battery powered
wheelchairs, scooters and lightweight hospital beds. They need the manufacturer/model number
for prior approval to accept these items.
Please come in to the office and find out how you can be part of this giving endeavor.
BARCODED KEY TAGS COME TO MORIAH In the beginning of April, Moriah staff will be
distributing barcoded key tags to all of our clients. The key tags will be scanned each day
when clients sign in for lunch. If you receive a
key tag from another center, you do not need a second one from Moriah. Your one key tag works
at all centers. Please bring your key tag with you whenever you come to the center.
We appreciate your patience as we implement this new system.
MR. MORIAH MEMBER
A tiny girl is abandoned on a ship headed for
Australia in 1913. She arrives completely alone with nothing but a small suitcase containing a few clothes
and a single book—a beautiful volume of fairy tales. She is taken in by the dockmaster and his wife and
raised as their own. On her twenty-first birthday, they tell her the truth, and with her sense of self
shattered and very little to go on, "Nell" sets out to trace her real identity. Her quest leads her to
Blackhurst Manor on the Cornish coast and the secrets of the doomed Mountrachet family. But it is
not until her granddaughter, Cassandra, takes up the search after Nell’s death that all the pieces of
the puzzle are assembled. A spellbinding tale of mystery and self-discovery, The Forgotten
Garden will take hold of your imagination and never
let go.
continues our MONTHLY BOOK CLUB DISCUSSION GROUP on Monday, April 15
th, at 2 pm.
Register in the office and receive a library copy of this New York Times Bestseller for advance reading.
See what everybody has been reading and join in the discussion!
