Selected for Indian Govt. Fellowship to study at USA (1986-89) and received Rockefeller Foundation Biotechnology Career Award, USA in 1993. Visited five countries - USA, Canada, UK, Srilanka and Singapore for scientific training and updated research skills. Organized International satellite conference in Biotechnology (2003), Convener for South Zone Vice-Chancellor's Conference (2002), National Conference on Reproductive Biology and Comparative Endocrinology (2000), Organized three National Workshops (2000, 2003, 2005) on Bioinformatics in collaboration with ICMR, WHO, CSIR, DBT and APCOST and International Conference on Physiology, Biotechnology and Pharmacogenomics in 2013.

Projects: Handled 5 projects funded by various funding agencies with a total cost of Rs. 111.46 lakhs.

Outreach Programmes :

• We have conducted three workshops on Bioinformatics with the support of WHO,

ICMR and CSIR to train the students to get opportunities in various software and

scientific companies.

• We also organized one International Satellite Conference on Biotechnology to create

interaction between industries and Institutions.

• Our research work on diabetic patients resulted identification of polymorphism in

Hexokinase enzyme was recognized by GenBank and also developed in silico

designing of pyramidine derivatives were also published, recognized by PubMed.

• The study of Aloe vera gel for the treatment of diabetes in rat model has high

applicable value and also published as book.
