CAMP’S MISSION

• To offer a fun, educational and entertaining weekend for people

with aphasia and their family members or friends.

OBJECTIVES

Have a holiday in an aphasia-friendly environment

Learn and share with others who are living with aphasia

Experience new or adapted recreational and leisure activities

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Adults with aphasia

Each person may bring one family

member or friend

ACTIVITIES

Activities may include:

ACCOMMODATIONS

Room that can accommodate 2

people per room

Some accessible washrooms

and showers

Trained staff will be available

to provide personal care assistance

All meals are included and served in the dining hall

Smoking in designated

outdoor smoking areas

only

Parking onsite

STAFF

◊ Speech pathologists and other

health professionals

◊ Students

◊ Personal care attendants

◊ Jackson’s Point Staff

◊ Camp Coordinator

◊ Trained volunteers

Activities will be led by staff or volunteers with special skills (e.g.

art, yoga).

Health professionals will lead

selected educational activities.
