Appears to the Shepherds of Fatima three times and gives them Communion

The angel appeared three times to the shepherds ofFatima in order to preparethem for future apparitions of Our Lady and elevate themwith Communion to a super-natural state. During the thirdapparition the angel gave LucyCommunion with a Host thatdripped a drop of blood intothe chalice. Francesco andJacinta, having not yet madetheir First Holy Communion,were offered the content of the chalice. In this apparitionthe angel told them: “Eat anddrink the Body and Blood ofJesus Christ terribly outragedby the ingratitude of men.Offer reparation for their sakesconsole your God”.

“We began to see, in the distance, a light whiterthan snow in the form of a young man, quitetransparent, and as brilliant as crystal in the raysof the sun. As he came near we were able to seehis features: a young man about 14 or 15 yearsold and very beautiful. We were surprised andquite taken aback. We did not say a word. He reached us and said: ’Do not be afraid. I am theangel of peace. Pray with me.’ He knelt, bendinghis forehead to the ground. With a supernaturalimpulse we did the same, repeating the words weheard him say: ’My God, I believe, I adore, Ihope, and I love You. I ask pardon for those whodo not believe, do not adore, do not hope, and do

not love You.’ Pray in this way. The hearts ofJesus and Mary are attentive to your prayers.And he disappeared. The supernatural atmos-phere that he left us in was so intense we werefor a long time unaware of our own exist-ence...”.

Second Apparition of the Angel“The angel said to us: ’What are you doing? Youmust pray! Pray a lot! The hearts of Jesus andMary have merciful designs for you. You mustconstantly offer your prayers and sacrifices toGod, the Most High.’ ’How are we to sacrifice?’I asked. ’In every possible way offer sacrifice toGod in reparation for the sins by which He is

offended, and in supplication for the conversionof sinners. In this way you will bring peace toyour country. I am the Guardian Angel ofPortugal. Above all, bear and accept with submis-sion the sufferings God will send you.’ And hedisappeared...These words of the angel cut intoour spirits like a light, making us understand whoGod is, how He loves us, and how He wants us tolove Him; the value of sacrifice and how it pleasesHim; how He receives it for the conversion ofsinners.”

When Lucy asked Our Lady if she would take them to Heaventhe Virgin replied “Yes, I will soon take Jacinta and Francesco,but you will stay here for quite awhile. Jesus wants you to servehim by making me known andloved. He wants to establish inthe world a devotion to myImmaculate Heart; I promise salvation to all the devotees. These souls will be dearest toGod, and like flowers then will beplaced by me before his throne”.

The Blessed Jacinta Marto retoldwhat Our Lady said during one of the apparitions: “Pray, prayconstantly and make sacrifices for sinners. Take note, many souls will go to Hell because youdid not pray and make sacrificesfor them...” In addition, “Thesins that take most souls to Hellare the sins of the flesh. Certainfashions will come that willoffend Jesus very much. The people that serve God neednot follow the trends. TheChurch has no trends. Jesus isalways the same. The sins of theworld are very great, if men onlyknew what eternity is, they woulddo everything in their power tochange their lives. Mankind losesits way because they do not thinkof Jesus’ death and they do notrepent” (cf. CCC 1035).

Francesco, who did not hear the angel speak, nor heard Maryspeak in the future, asked Lucy:“The angel gave you HolyCommunion, but to Jacinta and me what did he give?”. “It was indeed HolyCommunion, replied Jacintawith unspeakable happiness. Did you not see the blood fallingfrom the Host?”. “I felt God inme, but I did not know what iswas!”, replied Francesco. “And kneeling on the ground, he stayed a long time with hissister repeating the prayer of theangel: ’Holy Trinity etc.’. Among all of the apparitionskindly sent from Heaven, thiswas certainly the one that mostinfluenced the good soul ofFrancesco. The words of theangel asking for solace for God,saddened by abuses and sins,deeply hit his sensitive heart.From that point, his ideal was toconsole Our Lord. While Jacintabecame the apostle for the sinners, Francesco wanted to bethe consoler of Christ”.

The angel that appeared to the three shepherds in Fatima in 1916 held in his lefthand a chalice and over it, in the air, was a Host from which drops of blood fell intothe chalice
