What are Honors classes like?

These classes have a more rigorous and challenging curriculum than non-honors classes.

A strong work ethic and high level of motivation is expected of students.

Although honors classes do have an increased workload and are more advanced, most honors courses do not receive a weighted grade.

These classes also help prepare students for future AP classes.

What are AP classes like? AP courses are designed and updated annually to

reflect what is being taught in cutting-edge college courses.

Students receive an external evaluation—the AP Exam—which is scored by college faculty and high school teachers from around the world who verify that the student has mastered college-level studies.

Advanced Placement Program® (AP®) courses give you a head start

on college.

Taking the end-of-course AP Exam sends a powerful message to colleges and universities that a student is ready for them, and can enable students to gain admission, college credit, and placement into advanced courses.
