­ I have been working in the Shipping team of SnapDeal as a Java backend developer.­ Lane Prioritization – I created the logic for creating lanes and assigning them priorities along with its UI. Lane

Prioritization has highly helped SnapDeal in identifying the important channels and hence, prioritizing them toachieve better customer satisfaction. 

­ I have constantly made panels for the shipping admin site that have been working live. ­ WhatTheHacks  ­  We   took  part   in   WhatTheHack  organized  by   SnapDeal  and  wrote  a   script  working  on

serviceability   logs   to   increase   the   serviceable   areas.   Also,   we   created   in   another   hackathon   an   animatingshopping guide that showcased the customer items most frequently visited by him using his history and madethe SnapDeal site much more interactive.

­ I completed my internship under Mr. Agnello Pinto (Director, Phyder) whose expertise, patience and guidancehelped in understanding the creation and functioning of Facebook Applications.

­ The project involved making a Facebook App Page, verifying account details, sending HTML emails and lastlystoring it in the database.

­ This project was given to us by one of the many clients of CMSS namely Sodexo.

FULLY FUNCTIONAL WEBSITE DURING THE TRAINING OF SNAPDEAL (QUIZUPPRO)

­ In this project, we made a website for online category based quizzes using SpringMVC framework.­ I presented the product in front of the CEO and the VP’s of Snapdeal who in turn adjudged us as 1 st  and

awarded us a cash prize of 25K.

OCR USING TESSERACT AND SOM (Aug 2014­Dec 2014)MENTOR – Prof Rishin Haldar (rishinhaldar@vit.ac.in)

­ OCR (optical  character  recognition)  is   the mechanical  or electronic  conversion of  images of  typewritten orprinted text into machine­encoded text.

­ OCR consists of 2 steps:1. Self­organizing maps (SOM) – SOMs clusters the input image into different classes depending on the

input  features.  We used two input features  i.e.  black and white color   in order to make the  imagesuitable for character recognition. 

2. Tesseract ­ We used the best known OCR software Tesseract for the optical character recognition usingVisual Studio which creates a text file for the given input picture.

Further, we made an automated toll booth using our OCR code to showcase the applications of OCR (hardwareproject). TOOLS – OpenCV, C++, MATLAB, Tesseract, Leptonica, Visual Studio 2010 

CREATING A SHOPPING COMPLEX DATABASE (Metro Cash And Carry)MENTOR – Prof Ramani S (ramani.s@vit.ac.in)

­ This project was aimed at creating the frontend (HTML) and the backend (MySQL) for a database using variousother languages such as Javascript, PHP.

­ The SCRUD (search, create, read, update, delete) functions were available to the users.

ACHIEVEMENTS Have scored 100/100 in CBSE X Board Exam in Mathematics. Have completed courses such as Game Theory, Stanford Univ. (88.7%) through Coursera.org.
