Strenghts

• Our journal has allowed promotion of PhD’s, M sc’s in regional universities (DRCongo:University of Kinshasa, University of Lubumbashi…; Congo/Brazzaville:University Marien Ngouabi)

• Extension to north (Tunisia, Morocco) and west Africa (Ivory coast, Burikina Fasso, Cameroon)

• Participate to continuous medical education• Promotion of one health concept through SACIDS

(Southern African Centre for Infectious Disease surveillance)

Weaknesses

• Lack of budget and modicity of financial support by local institutions

• Few reviewers, inadequate expert pool (eg surgeon, radiology…)

• Failure to respond on time• Lack of ressources for training authors and

editors• Lack of regular sponsoring and perdiem

retribution of technical staff

Weaknesses

• Lacking of tracking systems (no appropriate internet and website equipment, poor local and international visibility)

• English publications are sparse limiting extension to english spoken regions

• Lack of ICT specialist
