Hibernating Bear CraftMake a paper bag bear cave!

Supplies:

Instructions:1. Using markers, draw a bear on the construction paper.

Cut out your bear.2. Find the opening in the paper bag. Cut out an arch. 3. Staple the top of the bag. Glue cotton balls around the opening. 4. Gather leaves from outside. Put them in the bag. Then put your

bear inside.

Glossaryadapt—(uh-DAPT) To adapt is to change in order to survive. Animals adapt to weather in winter.

dens—(DENZ) Dens are the homes of wild animals. Some bears hibernate in dens during the winter.

hibernate—(HY-bur-nate) To hibernate is to sleep for the winter. Bears and frogs hibernate to survive the cold weather.

migrate—(MY-grate) To migrate is to move from one place to another. Many animals migrate to warmer places in winter.

predators—(PRED-uh-turz) Predators hunt other animals for food. Arctic foxes are predators.

prey—(PRAY) Prey are animals that are hunted by other animals for food. Ermines are prey.
