Angela Speir Phelps serves MUST as ExecutiveVice President. A Georgia native, Angela grewup in DeKalb County and graduated from AgnesScott College. After graduation, she served asthe Assistant Administrator of the medicalcomplex at the United Methodist Children'sHome. Angela first ran for public office in 1992as a candidate for the Georgia State Senate.Following a six-year term on the Georgia PublicService Commission, she continued her serviceto the people of Georgia as Executive Director ofGeorgia Watch, a statewide nonprofit. In 2002,Angela became the first woman elected to theGeorgia Public Service Commission and the thirdwoman elected to a statewide office in Georgia.She has been awarded numerous distinctionsfor her service to the people of Georgia,including being recognized as one of Georgia'sMost Influential Women by the GeorgiaInformer. Angela also was recognized by

WSBTV as a "Pol i t ical Role Model ." The Counci l on Aging awarded her theirCommunity Service Award for her efforts on behalf of senior adults and, in 2009,she received the Common Cause Democracy Award.
