WHY DO WE DO THIS TASK?

The Task

• Examine pieces where the intention is to persuade

• You need to be able to explain how language is being used to influence the reader (eg. how is ‘the case’ being made?)

• This includes visual material• Although it is a writing task, you are being

assessed on your ability to read and think

• A report of how the argument was presented

• A detailed list of techniques
