Alumni Association
The Alumni Associations of Northwestern are dedicated to providing a sense of continuing community and
belonging among Northwestern Alumni and with the University.
The associations exist to promote the profession and practice of the natural health care disciplines and to:
Create awareness about the University and our programs
Forward the legacy of the University by referring students
Support the University’s mission through our fundraising efforts
Leadership All boards and committees meet on a regular basis and are charged with forwarding the mission of the

Alumni Association Executive Committee
Membership of this committee consists of leaders from each of the individual program boards who come
together to identify universal awareness, fundraising and referral strategies.

The Office of Career Services congratulates and supports you as you begin your journey to become a health care practitioner. Listed below are some of the resources that we offer to assist you with your future career plans and guide you on your road to success. Career Services will help you develop your career – we provide assistance in:
Practice Success Seminars
Better business management through (marketing, case management, finances, etc.)
Assessing the value of an associateship contract and negotiation of employment details.
Identifying practice opportunities – associateship, partnership, purchase, start-up.
Seeking employment opportunities through job fairs and direct contact with employers.
One-on-one consulting to help students and alumni make informed career choices. Assessing the value of a practice for purchase, negotiating the sale, and financing options.
Assessing demographic data to identify potential practice locations, including the use of Locus Chiropractic Location Specialists. Contact Career Services for login information.
Developing effective resumes and business plans.
Career Services Consultants:
Jerry Peterson with Practice Brokers Inc. and Peterson Health Equipment can provide assistance, guidance, and counseling for the 4 main career choices: Setting up a practice from scratch, buying/selling a practice, office share arrangements and associate positions. Jerry is available by appointment on Tuesdays from 10am to 4pm in the Career Services Office.
Kathy Mandel, J.D, Attorney at Law with Mandel Law Office, PA and Practice Brokers, Inc. provides legal assistance in the following areas: reviewing associate contract, designing and drafting office share agreement, setting up a new practice entity (LLC/S-corp), legal representation when buying or selling a practice, contract review, office lease negotiation, and assistance/guidance through financing process when buying or setting up a practice, overall career guidance. Kathy is available for appointments on Thursday mornings in the Career Services Office.
Melissa Kolb, DC, MKR Chiropractic Recruiting Find the “perfect fit”! Through resume writing to phone and in –person Interviews, Dr. Kolb assists you in securing the Associate Position that best aligns with your employment expectations. Dr. Kolb accepts appointments every Wednesday in the Career Services Office.

Edith Davis Herbal Dispensary We maintain an inventory of more than 800 raw, powdered, and patent herbs and formulas. Prescriptions can be filled from any licensed acupuncturist.
Ordering herbs or formulas:
A written order from a licensed acupuncturist is required. Fax in your license if we do not have it on file. Submit your order by fax or email mcaompharmacy@nwhealth.edu. Phone orders are not accepted.
Orders are usually available same-day. You will receive a confirmation email when your order has been filled.
Prescriptions can be picked up or mailed for a small fee.

Additional Information
Continuing Education
The Continuing Education Department provides diverse educational opportunities designed to assist you in the advancement of your knowledge and skills as a natural health care provider. Recent graduates may receive up to 50% off the cost of seminars for 12 months from the date of graduation (exemptions include cosponsored programs and online learning).
We offer a variety of educational choices:
Online, DVD and webinars.
Live seminars in various locations around the country. Annual Conferences: Annual License Renewal, Homecoming, Health and Wellness Symposium
and Banff Ski Seminar. Board Certification preparation and certificate programs.
As an alumnus, you will receive the Continuing Education Catalog, a quarterly publication that lists upcoming seminars, in addition to brochures, flyers and email notices about individual seminars.

You may continue using your Northwestern email account indefinitely. To keep your Northwestern email address active, you will need to log into your account on a monthly basis. If you choose to continue using your Northwestern email account, you will be subject to the same acceptable use policy as current students and employees.
Key Card Access
Your student key card is automatically de-activated upon graduation; however, you may choose to have your key card reactivated at no charge if you retained your original key card. If you turned in your key card prior to graduation, misplaced or lost your key card, you may purchase a new key card for $10.00.
To reactivate your key card or to purchase a new key card, stop by the Institutional Advancement Office (Room 36) at (952/800) 888-4777 ext. 163.
