Algebra 2 Summer Packet The text… Algebra 2 published by McDougall Littell ISBN 13: 978-0-618-59541-9 Summer Packet Remember it is truly beneficial to keep your mathematical mind oiled over the summer. Please do not wait until the night before, day before, or weekend before school starts to do this! You will be so busy with back-to-school business and reuniting with friends. It’s best to complete one page per week over the summer. Also, PLEASE CHECK ANSWERS!! Remember—it’s foolish to practice something the wrong way. The material comes from Chapter 1 of your text and is a review of foundational concepts from Algebra 1. The completed packet will count as a homework grade. After the first session date, you will be tested on this material and this will be your first grade for Quarter 1. WORK IS TO BE COMPLETED ON NOTEBOOK PAPER IN PENCIL. You will not turn in your copy of the packet, just your work. This is a sample of how your work is to be completed. (The parentheses indicate directions.) Should you lose this packet, another copy can be obtained from the front office.
The class will use the TI-84 Plus graphing calculator. You will need your own calculator. Be sure to write your name on both the calculator and its cover.

Remember, the value inside an absolute valuesymbol can be either positive or negative so youmust always consider two equations or inequalities. |x| = 2 |x| > 2x = 2 or -x = 2 x > 2 or -x > 2 x = -2 x < -2
