The Urban Poor - The United Nations estimates that 870million people in cities live in slums.
By 2030, an estimated 5 billion of the world's 8.1 billionpeople will live in cities.About 2 billion of them will live in
slums.
Clean water, sanitation facilities and healthcare are hugegaps in congested urban areas.
Poor incomes, consequent malnutrition and unhygienicliving conditions have negative bearings on the overall
physical, economic and social well being of a community.
