Being able to identify the AIS threats and tounderstand theadaptations thatmake them invasive, alongwith theways thatwe can prevent the spread of these species, is knowledgethateveryoneinthecommunityshouldhave. The headwaters of the Columbia RiverWatershed flow through ourvalleysastheymaketheirwaytowardsthePacificOcean.Astheypassthrough this region, they can pick up and transport invasive speciesdownstream. The Columbia River Watershed is the last majorwatershed in the country that has not been invaded by zebra andquagga mussels.
