What is an Agriculture Revolution

The Agricultural Revolution, was the world's first historically verifiable revolution in agriculture. It was the wide-scale transition of many human cultures from a lifestyle of hunting and gathering to one of agriculture and settlement which supported an increasingly large population.

Why did it happen?

People who had been largely nomadic and in need of pasturage for their flocks, found the area conducive to agriculture and settled down.

In order to accomplish anything, people had to settle down in one place where they could get to work.  It was impossible to get beyond a certain point of progress living out in the open as a hunter-gatherer, always moving from place to place in search of food.  To get beyond that point, people had to settle down, had to have a permanent basis from which they could begin to master their environment.
