6ADSL ROUTER
Interfaces on the ADSL Modem
1. ADSL interface ( RJ 11 ) for connecting the incoming DSL line from the POTS splitter
2. Ethernet interface ( RJ45 ) for connecting the Ethernet cable from the PC
3. USB interface for connecting the USB cable from the PC
4. AC Power from adapter

Front Panel LED's on ADSL Modem
1. Power- A Solid light indicates a connection to a good power connector. Power supply (9V AC 1A) supply is ok
2.Status (system) A blinking light indicates normal operation. If this light is not lit and the power light is on,this indicates modem failure

3. ADSL Link/Act - Solid Green LED Indicates that the Modem is connected to DSLAMBlinking Indicates Modem is not able to train up.
Possible line problemFlickering - indicates that data is being transferred
between PC and Modem.

WAN Settings
WAN Settings are settings that are used to connect to your ISP. These settings may be referred to as Public settings. These settings are provided by BB service provider
PVC - Permanent Virtual Circuit VPI - Virtual Path Identifier VCI- Virtual Circuit Identifier
CETTM MTNL
15ADSL ROUTER
WAN Settings :VPI and VCI
Virtual Path Identifier refers to an 8-bit (user to network packets) field within the header of an Asynchronous Transfer Mode cell
A Virtual Circuit Identifier (VCI) is a unique identifier which indicates a particular virtual circuit on a network. It is a 16-bit field in the header of an ATM cell

WAN SettingsDynamic IP Address :
Select this option if ISP provides an IP address automatically.
Static IP Address :Select this option to set static IP information. You will need to enter information like : IP address Subnet mask Gateway address DNS address(es)
CETTM MTNL
19ADSL ROUTER
WAN SettingsPPPoE/PPPoA
Select this option for PPPoA/PPPoE connection. This is the most preferred setting for the internet access for volume based plans. Enter the required information accordingly.
Username and password is stored on the ADSL router.
Bridge Mode Bridges mode can be used for the time based plans
and connecting server on the internet. It creates a dial-up connection for internet access.
Username and password is stored on the PC.

LAN Settings
These are the IP settings of the LAN interface to PC.
These settings may be referred to as Private settings.
You may change the LAN IP address if needed. The LAN IP address is private to internal network
and cannot be seen on the Internet. The default IP address is 192.168.1.1 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0.

21ADSL ROUTER
DHCP Server
Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP) server gives out IP addresses when a device is booting up and request an IP address to be logged on to the network
Starting IP address Ending IP address Client Table
CETTM MTNL
22ADSL ROUTER
DNS Settings
The DNS Configuration allows the user to set the configuration of DNS relay
DNS relay selection Disable DNS relay or Use auto discovered DNS server only or Use user discovered DNS server only
Preferred DNS server - Enter the primary DNS server IP address
Alternate DNS server - Enter the secondary DNS server IP address
CETTM MTNL
23ADSL ROUTER
Virtual Server
The DSL Router can be configured as a virtual server so that remote users accessing Web or FTP services via the public IP address can be automatically redirected to local servers in the LAN network Depending on the requested service (TCP/UDP port number), the DSL router redirects the external service request to the appropriate server within the LAN network
Rule Name Private IP Protocol

24ADSL ROUTER
Filters
Filters are used to deny LAN computers from accessing the Internet. The Router can be setup to deny internal computers by their IP or MAC addresses. The DSL-502T can also block users from accessing restricted web sites
