Approach
Apne Bare Mein-an Educational tool on Menstruation2009
Brief
Apne Bare mein is a tool to create
awareness about menstruation among
girls. It has been designed to develop a
positive attitude about menstruationamong the users and also serve as a myth
buster. The inormation is woven into
stories where a young lady encourages
three girls to become aware about
menstruation and provides them with
necessary knowledge in the course o
the story. Comic book used as a medium
makes the product appealing to its users.
The tool is in the orm o an A3 size leaet.
The large size o the comic leaet indicates
that it is not meant to be hidden. It couldbe spread and read by multiple users at
the same time which triggers discussions
among the users.
Target User
Semi urban & rural girls o age 913 years.

Brief
Prithvi is an educational tool that uses a
combination o hardware and interactive
animation to show the journey o earth
rom Jurassic era till the modern age
with evolution o human civilization. It
is designed to oer interactivity without
the need or users acquaintance to
computers.
The hardware consists o a globe with
sockets into which human shaped plugs
can be inserted and a screen to show
animation that changes according to the
number o plugs inserted into the globe.
The act o inserting a human plug into the
globe symbolizes an increase in human
population on Earth.
Target users
Children who have no acquaintance to
computers.

Jurassic Era
Initially when there are no plugs on the
globe, the screen shows Earth as it was
beore man appeared on it.
Early Human Civilization
First plug on the globe changes the
animation to show hunting gathering
liestyle o early human settlements on
Earth.
Emperors and Empires
With second plug on the globe
Animation changes to show an era o
Kings and Emperors. Territory and wars.
Modern Era
Finally with the third plug the animation
shows the Earth in the modern era where
man has made huge technological
advancements which is taking its toll
on Earths environment.

Brief
This course trains Nurses about the care-
taking side o Nursing such as comorting
patients by giving emotional support,
hope, and building trust and dignity inthe patients.
The Course is sel explanatory and sel
paced. A user can ollow multiple learning
path as per their interest.
Inside a particular module, the navigation
is kept quite open ended. The content and
knowledge checks has been designed in a
way that makes the course an experiential
learning simulation.

Brief
This was a research project undertaken by
me to understand the existing inormal
education among the Tribal (Adivasis)
o Jharkhand and make the researched
data available to others.
The research took place at a village o
Munda tribe called Maranghada, 60
Kms away rom Ranchi, Jharkhand. As
a part o this project I interacted with
the villagers o Maranghada and visited
NGOs working in the education domain
among the adivasis.

Brief
This project was aimed at designing and
depicting the inormation about bus
routes and schedule o Gandhinagar
State Bus Transportation. The depictedinormation must provide answers to
passengers basic questions related to
planning a journey.
While planning a journey, the passengers
seek answers to basic questions like
which bus should he take, its schedule,
are, duration o journey and so on.
Inormation boards at bus stands oten
dont cater eectively to these basic
questions. They ail to answer either due
to lack o adequate inormation or dueto improper depiction o the available
inormation.

Education
I am a user experience designer, a post-graduate in
New Media Design from National Institute of Design,
Gandhinagar (Gujarat) and a graduate in Electronics
and Instrumentation Engineering from Hindustan
college of Science & Technology, Mathura.I like to create interactions and experiences and I
have worked in the domain of learning, information
sharing and visual communication. I have combined
my education as an engineer and a designer to have a
more systematic and user centric approach to problem
solving. As a designer, I base my work on user research
and a rm understanding of the user needs and
requirements. I often use ethnographic research as a
tool for understanding needs and concerns of people
with different societal and cultural backgrounds atvarious places and institutions. The diverse ways
in which people interact with their surroundings
extremely fascinates me. I like to explore various
mediums and express myself through them. I love to
do photography and illustrations.
