EE Design Project; Purdue University, Lafayette — Dec 2013 Completed this Senior Design Project of Purdue as an exchange student. Designed a 100 kbps serial communication bus system with four Transmitting-Receiving Modules to connect each sub-system. Modules were integrated in PCBs, with extensible physical address. Conflict detection and Stop-and-Wait Automatic Repeat Request protocol was implemented. The T/R Module is shown in Figure 1.

3D Capture Team; Purdue University, Lafayette — Dec 2013 Worked with PhD students under the supervision of Prof. Jan P Allebach. Developed a method to regenerate 3D images with a single-camera-single-projector image-capturing system through complicated matrix transformations in Matlab. This application could help eliminate the second lens of a commercial 3D camera by letting its flashlight serve as a projector. Figure 2 shows the original picture on the left, and the generated picture on the right.

Robotic Car Auto-Parking System; Southeast University, China — May 2013 The project simulated a cheap parking-assistant system in robotic car. It was funded by Student Research Training Program, amounting to CNY 1000. Ultrasonic sensors were utilised to measure parking spots. A servomotor and a DC motor was controlled by a micro controller MSP430 to alter direction and speed. PWM control was implemented. The robotic car is shown in Figure 3.
