CAF strategy• What kind of data do we have ?– Minimum Bias (low PT muon mostly from secondary vertex)

– Beam Halo (horizontal muon tracks)– Cosmic

• What we can study with those events ?– Noise and occupancy– Endcap efficiency

• EVENT SELECTION• STUDIES

What we are doing now ?

• Beam Halo selection– Trigger based (Salvatore) ready– CSC segment based (Haiyun) almost ready

• Minimum Bias selection– RPC rechits + tracker tracks (Orso)

• Detector Studies– RecHits distributions with MB and Cosmic (Orso)– CSC/RPC correlation (Camillo, Haiyun, Georgi)– Efficiency with beam halo events (Camillo)

• Trigger Studies: CSC versus RPC (Maciek)

• Noise (Silvia, David and shifter)

• BX distribution (Anna and Pigi)

Beam Splashes

"noisy strip" state:strip occupancy 3.5 times greater than average occupancy (from roll occupancy histogram)"noisy chamber”: average multiplicity > 6
