• Introductory session of ACE• Introduce some basic aspects of collaboration and the

advantages of creating and/or joining groups in ACE• ACE functionality demonstrated

– Create user account– Groups list in ACE

• Public and Private group visibility in ACE– Join a public group

• Chat with group members– Share a document with group members– Share an image with group members– Group members make an announcement in group– ACE team member will share KML/KMZ file with group

• Select and open one of the suggested Internet browsers

• Go to https://ace.arsc.edu/• Click on ‘Register’– Provide necessary information– Please provide a valid email address for your user account

• Click on ‘Create new account’• After receiving email confirming account approval– Click on link in email confirming account approval– Log in and create password– Click ‘Save’

• Click on ‘Groups’ tab along top menu in ACE– Join ‘Technical Review and Interchange Meeting [TRIM]’

group• Click on ‘Subscribe’ in Groups chart• This is a public group, all ACE users can self-join

• Share a document with the group– Under ‘Add Group Document Content’, click on ‘Files

(documents and images)’– Provide necessary information for your document

• Please name document ‘[ACEUserName]’s Document’– Upload your document as an attachment

• Share your own document • Click ‘Save’

• Chat with fellow group members– In the lower left corner of ACE, click on ‘Chatrooms’– If you do not see ‘Chatrooms’ in the bottom left portion of

your screen, then, first click the word balloon icon in the bottom right portion of the screen to activate the ACE Chat capability

• Make an Announcement in the group– Under ‘Add Group Document Content’, click on

‘Announcement’– Provide necessary information• Please name Announcement ‘[ACEUserName]’s

Announcement’– Click on ‘Save’

• Share an image with the group– Under ‘Add Group Document Content’, click on ‘Files

(documents and images)’– Provide necessary information for image that you are

sharing• Please name image ‘[ACEUserName]’s Image’

– Upload your image as an attachment• Share your own image

– Click on ‘Save’

• Open a shared document from another group member in ‘Technical Review and Interchange Meeting [TRIM]’ group– In ‘Technical Review and Interchange Meeting [TRIM]’

group, scroll down to ‘Group Content’ header– Select shared document from fellow group member that

you would like to view [ACEusername’s document]– Click on the name of the group content containing the

shared document– Click on the link under ‘Attachments’
