Bone caves, Inchnadamph
Guided walk back in time to just after the ice-age where the bones of reindeer, polar bears and even
humans were discovered in the caves. Stout footwear is essential. It is a good path but steep in
places. Total distance for this walk is 5km. Meet at the Bone Caves car park 4km south of

wonderful woodland. Meet the different mushrooms and learn their secrets in one of the best

Join us to clear up Ardersier Beach as part of the Million Mile Beach Clean initiative. Meet at the
slipway car park opposite the Gun Lodge Hotel. Gloves, bags and litter pickers will be provided. You

by a responsible adult.

Clachtoll Coastal walk
Ranger led guided walk through a crofting township rich in wildlife, to the iron-age Clachtoll broch.
Hear the stories of skeletons, ancient saunas and catastrophic collapse. We will see signs of otters
and show you how to look for whales and dolphins as well as seeing some extraordinary ancient life
forms in the rocks. This walk is a 4km circular walk. Suitable for families. Meet at Clachtoll Beach car

Fun guy or foe? Join us to look at some of the spectacular mushrooms to be found in the woods
around Spinningdale and learn what you need to look for to identify them.
This is designed as an identification workshop and not a foraging session. We will look at a variety of
different species both edible and inedible.

Bats are truly fascinating creatures and our only flying mammal. Come along and find out what bats
eat, where they live and other interesting facts about these wonderful creatures as we wander
through Grantown-on-Spey.

Family Bioblitz fun in the quarry
Join the Countryside Ranger to find out what bugs, plants, fish, birds, mammals etc. call Ballachulish
quarry home - how many different species will we find? We will explore the ponds, meadow and
woodland areas to see who lives there.
All ages welcome, children must be accompanied by an adult. If you have experience of identifying
species that's great but as long as you’re up for a few hours of fun then no experience is necessary.
We will also be doing a clean-up/litter pick and remove any invasive non-native species we find and
finish with toasting marshmallows over an open fire.
Please wear old clothes and bring waterproofs and a snack and drink.

As part of the children’s holiday activities come along to Dunnet Beach by the Seadrift Centre to join

Achmelvich Coastal walk
Ranger led guided walk along this stunning piece of coastline. We will see signs of otters, learn how
to look for whales and dolphins, and find out what crofting is all about. This walk is a 6km circular
walk to the 19th century clack mill at Altanabradhan. The path is rough in places and requires a bit of

Bats are truly fascinating creatures and our only flying mammal. Come along and find out what bats
eat, where they live and other interesting facts about these wonderful creatures as we wander
through The Riverside Park.
