Introduction of Mahashakti Foundation : Mahashakti Foundation is a Trust set up in 2004 in Kalahandi District of Odisha with support from FARR-CARE CASHE Program being supported by DFID (Govt. of UK) to support the organized growth of inclusive service in Odisha and promote sustainable livelihoods of the poor. Over the last 12 years, it has significantly expanded it’s operations within the state, and is well reputed as a professional new generation outfit in the sector. Now it has operations in ten districts with 35 project locations managed by 330 qualified and experienced staff members. Under it’s livelihoods programmes, Mahashakti Foundation implements large projects across the 10 districts. Mahashakti is unique that it houses both financial inclusion through SHGs and livelihoods programmes and is able to work at all levels of the value chain. Being a new generation Organization, Mahashakti Foundation’s contribution to the development sector is gaining recognition. There is a vibrant and active Governing Board representing dignified personnel from social
development, management, banking, administration and accounts sector. A Senior
Management comprising different departmental heads like Finance, HR, Audit, IT,
Operations (separately for developmental and financial inclusion projects) Research and
Documentation, Fund Raising, Social Security etc.. also works under the CEO. There is
specific project team headed by the Project Managers for each of the developmental
projects of the institution. Systems and processes are developed by the institution in a
proper manner and manuals/ operational guidelines for the management of different
projects, human resource, accounting, audit, internal control is already in place being
approved by the Governing Board. There is an in-house Internal Audit department within
the institution. The department is accomplished for process and project audit of all the
running projects of the institution as per the project guideline in every month. The internal
audit department also directly reports to governing board to maintain the integrity within
the institution.

Dhokra craft products were also exhibited by two 2 stalls. More than 6 new Dhokra products were also launched after the skill development training in the workshop.

Mr Jugal Kishore Pattnayak -Chief Executive Officer Mr Pattnayak is the co- founder of Mahashakti Foundation, a first growing likelihood development institution on creating opportunities empowering the poor. He is pioneer in financial inclusion through livelihood financing in one of the poorest regions of the globe i.e KBK distrists of Odisha, India, Being a social entrepreneur, he has served more than 2 decades on five pillars of development for the most deserved community in association with Oxfam, Unicef, DFID and CARE. He is a post graduate in Political Science and Rural Development from Bhanja Bihar, Berhampur University. He is a Diploma holder in Micro Finance from Indian Institute of Banking and Finance, Pune. He has also expertise in the field of livelihood and cluster development, managing institutional relationships, technical assistance on SHG promotion, linkage and federation building and capacity building of community as well as institutions. He has served in different national /state level NGOs in the capacity of Project Manager, Team Leader with the responsibility of overall implementation of entire program. He has also the honor to work as the team leader of CARE CASHE (Credit and Savings for House hold Enterprise) of CARE (DFID Supported) for 6 years. (2000-2006) He solely believes that economic empowerment leads to the development in all spears of ones life. He has also a strong determination to work harder and stay united towards reaching greater heights in alleviating poverty and ensuring financial security for the marginalized. Mr Devarsi Negi MBA-Finance (ITM) Director –Finance Devarsi Negi is a leading expert in Inclusive banking. He is an alumni of Institute for Technology and Management, Chennai from the batch of 1995-1997.He has been associated with Inclusive Banking space for more than 11 years. During his career of around 18 years he had been associate organizations like Indus ind Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC bank, FINO and Sahaj E village ltd at various capacities. In his last assignment he led the Financial Inclusion vertical of Sahaj E Village ltd as its Business Head (Vice president) and successfully establishes a profitability business model in Financial Inclusion space. In his tenure at Sahaj he managed BC relations with all the major banks and Lending institutions. As an expert he has spoken at various forums like confederation of Indian Industry (CII), IIT, GIZ, Micro save etc. He is a firm believer of growth stories of Rural India and is a vocal supporter of developing business models in rural banking space. In his career he has repeatedly proven that rural banking is not only profitable but also socially very rewarding. He strongly advocates fusion of compliance of BC and profitability of MFI to build future business model in rural space. He is also very strong supporter of co-branding in the rural banking spaces.
Mr.Jyoti Ranjan Mohapatra, M.Com ICWAI - Director Administration
Mr. Mohapatra is the co-founder of Mahashakti Foundation he has versatile experience in operations, finance, audit, management information system (MIS), After completion of M.Com, ICWAI, he started his career as Finance Manager, Head –Finance, Head Internal Audit, in a national level leading NGOs as well as micro finance projects. He is also a very good trainer on financial management, Accounts & record keeping. He is having a vast experience on capacity building of community level institutions on institutional development.

Mr Mohan Baliyarsingh , PGDM - Director Operations
Mr Baliyarsingh has more than 2 decades of experience in Livelihoods and Microfinance Operations. He is a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Bhanjavihar, Berhampur University andPost Graduation in History, Utkal University. He has served in different national level institutions i.e Rashtriya Gramin Vikas Nidhi, CARE India, (CASHE Program) ACCION International and ACCESS Development Services in different capacities. A major part of his career has been devoted towards management of Microfinance Projects and training programs on various facets of Microfinance including Financial Literacy. Prepared audio, video, pictorial material, training material, tips for trainer on Financial Literacy and SHG-Federation Management in English, Hindi and local languages. His close association and handholding support created many successful and replicable community managed organizations and Microfinance Institutions in Odisha. Mr. Bikram Keshari Patra - M.Com MBA - Head - Finance Mr. Bikram Keshari Patra is the Head - Finance Mahashakti Foundation, he has vast experience in area related to finance, audit, management information system (MIS). After completion of B.Com from Utkal university, he started is career as Accounts Manager in national level leading NGOs and served in developmental sector from 1998 to 2006. Since March 2006 he is associated in the industry of Micro Finance. He is also a very good trainer on financial management, Accounts & record keeping. He is having a vast experience on imparting training on Financial Management & capacity building of community level institutions on organizational development. He solely believes that the goal can be achieved through hard work and self confidence. Mr. Arun Kumar Pattnaik, M.Com, MBA-Finance Head Internal Audit & Risk Management Mr. Arun is associated with Mahashakti Foundation since 2008, a leading livelihood development institution of western Odisha. After completion of Master degree from Finance at Gandhi Institute of Management Studies, Gunupur he joined in Mahashakti Foundation. Before completion of MBA he has also completed M.Com from Berhempur University. Now he is serving as Head Internal Audit of MSF. He has keen knowledge in Internal Audit /Risk management of Social development accounts as well as Micro Credit accounts and able to handle the risk situation in the field also. He has also thorough knowledge in preparing funder proposals and reporting to funders as per their requirements.

Mr Rama Ballav Pattnayak M.Com HWA –Head IT
Mr Rama Ballav Pattnayak has more than 12 years of experience in information and
technology and MIS management. Mr Pattnayak has very rich expertise on management of
MIS software’s, up keep of IT equipments,. He worked with CARE India’s CASHE Program
as Manager –MIS for 6 years prior joining Mahashakti Foundation. At Mahashakti Mr.
Pattnayak is leading the IT and MIS department and managing the on line version of MIS at
head office level.

She has more than two years of experience on working for livelihood development. Miss. Rojalin Samal MBA - Agri Business (Centre for Agri Business, Utkal University) Project Coordinator – Social Development Projects MSF. Miss Samal has more than two years experience on handing different projects in Harsa Trusts. At present She handles the accounts as well as MIS of all social development projects of Mahashakti Foundation. She visits projects and supports project staff members on documentation, accounts and managing MIS. Miss. Priyanka Gachhayat – MBA Rural Management from Amity University, Bhubaneswar –Project Manager – SHG Development and Capacity Building supported by NULM. Priyanka has more than one year experience on handling government projects. She is rural management graduate from Amity University, Bhubanwswar and handles the project on SHG development and Capacity Building at Mahashakti Foundation. Miss Varnita Viswass MBA Rural Management from Amity University, Bhubaneswar Project Manager – Project Samartha (supported by Utkal Alumina, Kasipur) Miss Viswass has more than 1 year experience on handling micro enterprise development projects Now She is handling the Micro Enterprise Development Centre at Kasipur, Rayagada. Miss Puja Rani Tripathy- MBA Rural Management from Amity University, Bhubaneswar –Filed Coordinator –Financial Literacy Project. Miss Puja Rani Tripathy is more than one year experience in Financial Literacy Program. She is a graduate from Amity University, Bhubaneswar and handling the women financial literacy project of Mahahakti Foundation in 2 districts.

Mr Saroj Kumar Sahoo MBA-Marketing - Head Operations Mr Saroj Kumar Sahoo started his career with Asmitha Microfin ltd as a FCA/ABM from 2004 to 2006. Then joined the leading MFI SKS Microfinance in 2006 to 2013 and worked as BM/UM/AAM/ UM (Managing 5-7 branches) and then AAM (Mobile Financing). During his tenure as AAM he looked after the mobile financing program in Odisha,Jharkhand & Bihar and Disbursed >1.5 lacs of Nokia/Videocon Handsets) In May 2014 he joined with Muthoot Fincorp limited as Area Manager and started micro finance operation in Odisha. Mr Sahoo has very rich expertise on management as well as monitoring of micro credit operations for last 10 years.
Ms Ruby Tripathy MA – Manager –Social Security
Ms Tripathy has more than 7 years of working experience in the field of management of
NGOs as well as social security program. She has very good expertise on information and
technology and MIS. Now She is the manager of Mahashakti’s Social Security Program.
Mr Ramesh Chandra Pradhan – M.Com, MBA-Finance – Manager –Accounts
Mr Pradhan has more than 8 years of experience in the finance department of Mahashakti
Foundation. He joined with Mahashakti Foundation during 2006 as Accountant and now
looking after managing banking operations of the institution. He also very good knowledge
on financial management, cash flow analysis, portfolio tracking and book keeping of the MFIs.
Mrs. Baruni Mishra- MBA Finance- Manager- HR
Mrs. Mishra has more than 2 year experience as an asst. accounts manager in a company. In January 2015 Mrs. Mishra joined with Mahashakti Foundation as accounts Manager. She deals with the accounts of the micro credit section of Mahashakti Foundation, book keeping of the organization. She has also very good knowledge on financial management.
Miss Bhanumati Nayak - MBA HR- Manager- BC Operations
Miss Bhanumati Nayak has more than 5 years of working experience on Resource and funds
management. She has been a part of fast growing dairy company Milk Mantra Dairy Pvt Ltd and social
welfare group Aggragamee. She has single handedly worked with previous organization from it's very
initiation and has got the ball rolling for them. She is a graduate in Arts from DAV Womens College
Rourkela, Sambalpur University and holds Diploma in Information Technology, currently pursuing
her MBA in Human Resource Management from Sikkim Manipal University. She has a very good
expertise in resource and funds management and currently is the single point of contact (POC)
between Mahashakti Foundation all of its operational branches and Yes Bank Limited. She is a firm
believer in hard work and social equality and justice for all. She believes being a part of developed
society it is the responsibility of individuals to contribute for the development of financially backward
community. If education/awareness can be spread and opportunities be made available for the
communities in not so developed areas then people of those areas can definitely show their courage
and determination to raise themselves.

Mr.Narayana Sahu started his career with Dhanei KGFS-An IFMR Rural Channels & Services
Pvt. Ltd. from 2009 to 2015. During his tenure as Sr. Executive Human Resource he looked
after the managing human capital capacity about 150 employees and capability to manage
more than 50 branches. He is a Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Relation & Personnel
Management (HRM) from Bhanjavihar, Berhampur University ,he has also completed L.L.B in
LAW & M-Phil in IR&PM (HRM) from Bhanjavihar, Berhampur University.
In Mar 2015 he joined with Mahashakti Foundation as Head Human Resource and he has
very rich expertise on human resource management as well as monitoring the total
administration. He is also a very good trainer, having competency on human resource
management, capacity building and ability to manage the overall office administration.
Mr. Jayaram Parida - M Com - Internal Auditor Mr Parida has more than 20 years of experience in financial management, audit and overall financial management of NGOs as well as financial institutions. He worked with charted farms, national level NGOs, Micro Credit Institutions in the position of Head Finance, Internal Auditor and Manager –Accounts. He is also rich experience on training on financial management and book keeping. At Mahashakti Foundation Mr Parida is in-Charge of Internal Audit and Risk Management Department
Manoj Ku Dash M.Com, LLB, PGDLLPM, MSW Legal Adviser
Mr. Dash is the well wisher cum part and parcel of the M/S Mahashakti Foundation Family.
He has very much experienced about Law and XXXX in Liasioning, Agreement, knowledge
with civil & criminal and passed with M.com on management group and managed the office
administration. He has deals labour cases and deals with management on Finance, Marketing,
and Administration. Mr. Dash also good social worker passed with MSW Linkend with
NGO and trust sector. He has also a string determination to achieve the goal and always try
to developed the sector where he enters and prepare the modern society various project
for poor peoples to highlighted them on this.
