Cold weather used to get your calves down, but now
theyre singing a different tune. Now, Cows Match ColdFrontTM
Calf Milk Replacer can help your calves overcome seasonal challenges
brought on by cooler weather. Cows Match ColdFrontTM calf milk replacer
is a unique formulation of the same great calf milk replacer that set a higher
nutrition standard, now with a new, optimal balance of fat and carbohydrates
to provide both higher energy and more quickly mobilized energy sources.
The addition of L-carnitine enhances fatty acid oxidation, thus increasing
the ability of calves to better tolerate cold stress.
Protect your calves from the cold withnew Cows Match ColdFrontTM formula.

Dairy Recipes2/3 cup sour cream1/3 cup salad dressing1 Tbsp onion1 Tbsp parsley3 drops of Tabasco sauce1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce2 tsp dill weed1 tsp seasoned salt Mix all of the ingredients and chill. Serve with assorted vegetables. This tastes better if you make it the night before and let it chill.
Dill Dip for Vegetables
1-8 oz package of cream cheese1 16 ounce container of sour cream1 pkg of dry taco seasoning1 small jar of taco sauceLettuce, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, black olives, onions Mix the dry taco seasoning, sour cream and cream cheese together in a large bowl. Spread this in the bottom of a cookie sheet pan. Over this mix-ture spread the jar of taco sauce, then add the lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, black olives and what ever else you like on your taco. Serve with small Tostito Chips. This is my oldest son's, Marcus, fa-vorite item for me to bring to family get togethers.
Taco Dip
Ranch Potatoes
8 red potatoes1 cup ranch dressing1 cup sour cream1 cup shredded cheddar cheese1/4 cup bacon bitssalt to taste Cut potatoes into cubes and boil until done, using salt in water for taste. Mix sour cream, dressing, bacon bits and 1/2 of the cheese. Stir into drained potatoes. Spoon mixture into a 9x13 pan and sprinkle with remaining cheese on top. Bake at 350 for 15 to 20 minutes, until potatoes are bubbly. I usually double this recipe because they never last long at our house or if I take them somewhere for potluck.
Hamball
1-8 oz package of cream cheese1/4 cup Hellmans mayonnaise2 cups ground ham2 Tbsp. of parsley1 tsp onion1/4 tsp dry mustard1/4 tsp hot sauce Beat the cream cheese and mayon-naise until smooth. Stir in the remain-ing ingredients. Cover and chill for several hours. Place on a serving plat-ter and enjoy with Ritz Crackers. This is always a family favorite at the Hinkeldey's at Christmas time.
Breakfast Egg Bake1 large bag of frozen shredded hashbrowns14 eggs2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese2 cups of ham cubed1 container of whipping creamSalt and pepper to tasteMay also add green peppers or on-ions if you like Break the eggs into a large bowl and whisk until all the eggs are well mixed. Add the hashbrowns, ham,
salt, pepper and other ingredients as you like. Pour into a greased 9x13 pan and then pour the container of whip-ping cream over the top making sure all is evenly distributed. Put in the fridge over night. In the morning turn your oven on to 350 and bake for about an hour or until a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean. You can also make this egg bake with sausage. Just make sure you cook the sausage before you add it to the egg bake.

Warmer-than-average weather has continued across the region during the last 30 days. Temperatures have been anywhere from 1 to 3 degrees above the average in most locations. Meanwhile, rainfall amounts have generally been a little below the seasonal average. As summer fades into autumn over the next 30 days, a subtle shift in the weather pattern should occur across the Upper Midwest. This shift will promote tem-peratures that will be closer to the average. The threat of the fi rst frost and freeze of theseason will exist in many spots, especially early in October. Precipitation totals are likelyto end up close to average throughout the region during the second half of September and fi rst part of October.
