OVERVIEWThe Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) is an internationally accredited language examination
ELEGIBILITYAnyone may register for the JLPT*; however, in principle, applicants should be non-native speakers of Japanese.*The American Association of Teachers of Japanese reserves the right to refuse JLPT registration to anyone for any reason.
TEST DATE: 1, 9
REGISTRATION PERIOD: 6 – September 30 9Online registration will open at 9:00 AM on August 26, and close at 9:00 PM on September 30, 2019 (Eastern Time). Paper applications must ARRIVE at the AATJ office by the deadline (NO postmarks, faxes or emails). Note: Late registration is NOT offered.
HOW TO REGISTEROnline Registration: A link will be available on the first day of registration so interested individuals can apply for the test using the online system. You will need a credit card to pay the registration fees.Mail-In Registration: A PDF application booklet with fillable form will be available by the first day of registration for those who want to apply for the test by mail. You will need to send payment in the form of a check or money order.
TEST RESULTSTest results will be released in early February, 2020 online. Examinees who pass the exam will receive a Certificate of Proficiency along with their Score Report.
