7th Indo-Pacific Fish Conference, May 2005, Taiwan
The 7th Indo-Pacific Fish Conference will be held in Taipei, Taiwan, 15–20 May2005, under the Chairmanship of Professor Kwang-Tsao Shao of AcademiaSinica. The following symposia are planned:
More symposia, workshops or forums on any advanced topic or new trend arewelcome. Those interested in convening additional symposia should submit thetitle, content and purpose of the proposed symposium as well as the names ofthe speakers expected to ipfc7@sinica.edu.tw by 30 June 2004.

Nominations are solicited for the inaugural Pieter Bleeker Award for Excellence
in Indo-Pacific Ichthyology. The prize will be awarded for ‘an outstanding bodyof published work in Indo-Pacific ichthyology, in systematics or ecology’ to oneor two living ichthyologists. The award consists of a plaque and prizes (to beannounced later), and will be presented during the Farewell Banquet of the 7th
IPFC (20 May 2005). Nominations may be made by any ichthyologist, includ-ing self-nominations, and should include the nominee’s curriculum vitae, detailsof the nominee’s specific contributions and their impacts on ichthyology. Nomin-ations should be submitted as an email (Word or rtf) attachment by 30November 2004 to the Chair of the Bleeker Award Committee, Dr JeffreyLeis of the Australian Museum, Australia, email: jeffl@austmus.gov.au
