Project manager Marjo Uusi-Pantti

• We control and monitor the use of radio frequencies in Finland.

• Frequency planning and spectrum supervision ensure that radio systems can be assigned sufficient amount of usable and interference-free radio frequencies.

• The use of frequencies is controlled by the radio license procedure. All radio transmitters that are not specifically exempted from individual licensing need Traficom's radio license.

Spectrum Management

Allocation of Radio Spectrums

• Cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and Communications

• Cooperation with stakeholders of the field• Traficom's regulations

National Spectrum Allocation Plan

• Frequency planning and radio licenses• Spectrum supervision and frequency monitoring• Equipment compliance• Examinations and certificates

Securing the Use of Radio Frequencies

• Frequency use is agreed at international level:• ITU-R, EU, CEPT / ECC, neighboring countries• Bilateral coordination negotiationsInternational Cooperation

Planning and Supervision of Spectrum Use

5G Momentum - the Goal of the Ecosystem Project is

› to promote the development and introduction of 5G service by creating a new kind of cooperation network for the 5G trial activities.

› to promote through trials of new services and innovations base on 5G technology.

› identify challenges related to 5G operating environment.
