Also, since Friendswood isa more affluent area, we have access to higherquality resale clothing from loyal Friendswoodconsignors who are committed to supportinglocal businesses. As a business owner andresident, her close connection to the communityhas enabled her to better understand whatcustomers want which, in turn, has helped thebusiness nearly double its monthly sales sincetaking over in June.

Elita was born in Colorado Springs, Coloradoto parents in the Air Force Academy and livedprimarily in SanAntonio when she was growingup, but also lived in Germany and Sicily. Sheearned a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinarystudies and a master’s degree in educational

administration and worked in the educationalfield for 13years as a teacher,AssistantPrincipal,and Principal at Pearland ISD and Clear CreekISD. Elita and her husband, Clay,met in collegeat TexasA&MUniversity in Corpus Christi andmoved to Friendswood in 2001. Elita said “wechose Friendswood because, as an educator,q u a l i t yschools werethe highestpriority for mein choosing aplace to callhome andFriendswoodis known forits excellent school system.”

As a resident business owner, Elita feels likeshe has a unique connection to the community,her family attends a local church, and her twochildren attend Friendswood schools.”In addition, she helps out by providing on

the job training for special needs students at theFriendswood High School Transition Centerand also helped sponsor FISD’s Clinefest eventthat was held earlier this year.
