Magnetom Trio, Tim System 3T

The current Magnetom Trio, Tim System 3T has 102 coil elements and 32 channels for

studies ranging from demanding clinical routine up to the most advanced research.

Extraordinary image quality, unmatched iPAT performance, excellent workflow, and

whole body imaging functionality up to 181 cm (6 ft.). It comes standard with a TQ-

engine (45mT/m @200 T/m/s) - the strongest gradient in the industry. It offers the largest

anatomical coverage with 50 cm FoV.

The system is equipped with patient monitoring unit to facilitate imaging, chiller for the

gradient system; scanner console and independent workstation; higher order shim

capability; and basic image processing functions such as MPR, MIP etc, standard

imaging protocols including orthopedic protocols.

0.25 ppm VRMS for a 40 cm (16 inch) DSV (diameter spherical volume) 1 ppm VRMS

for a 50 cm (20 inch) DSV (diameter spherical volume)

These upgrades of this 3Tesla MR to an 18 channel state-of-the-art TIM Trio MR will

offer enhanced focus on joint, cardiac and vascular imaging, neuro-imaging and whole

body burden of performance for studies that disease. The newly upgraded resource will

foster original innovative research through support of pilot studies and new teams within

the BIR and will support the CCTS efforts in career development, support of

transdisciplinary scientific endeavors and novel methodological informatic strategies

including image analysis.
