Gathering Prayer

Holy Mystery, we gather this morning conscious of our vulnerability, perhaps as never before. Our world seems to have been turned upside down by so many things beyond our control. We have faced a week of loss, loss of lives, friends and family, loss of the sense of safety, loss of freedom of movement

as we practise social distancing as a way of protecting each other, as a way of loving each other. At this is a time of confusion and sadness in our lives, we ask you to bless our tears, and the tears of our neighbours. May our tears cleanse us and bring healing and a sense of hope in the days, weeks and months ahead.

In the words of A New Creed, “God is with us, we are not alone. Thanks be to God.” Amen.
