    Test Description and Methodology

This test depends on allele specific PCR for the genotyping. DNA isolated from the woman is subjected to amplification using primers specific for a particular allele under optimized conditions. The PCR products were analyzed using agarose gel electrophoresis.

    Intended Use

This test helps to identify the genotype status of Anti-Mullerian hormone (at position 49) and Follicle stimulating hormone receptor (at position 680). These positions are reported to be associated with response to external FSH and the risk of ovarian hyperstimulation during assisted reproduction.

    Additional Comments about the result

The individual carries alleles that encode Serine or Isoleucine at pos.49 of AMH (heterozygous). An allele coding for Serine at pos.680 of FSHR is present in both the chromosomes (homozygous).A defective (less active) AMH and Serine containing FSHR predicts the subject to be a good responder to external FSH.In addition, the risk of ovarian hyperstimulation is predicted to be low.
