Introduction 05
Electric solutions for every heating application. The recent trend towards electric heating has been driven by heating professionals who
recognise that these systems offer benefits that cannot be provided by conventional
hydronic systems.
By offering ease of installation, greater flexibility of use, virtually no maintenance, lower
lifetime cost as well as allowing simpler new-build construction and renovation methods to
be applied, it is not difficult to see why electric heating is on the increase.
MYSON offer electric options for all applications - giving a superior choice to that of any
other manufacturer.
Trusted throughout the heating industry. As one of the oldest and most respected names in the British heating industry, MYSON
has a heritage stretching back to the early days of central heating.
Today, MYSON is part of a Finnish, family owned company, Rettig ICC (Indoor Climate
Control). With factories and high volumes of sales across the world and annual sales of over
EUR500 million, Rettig ICC is Europe’s leading radiator, towel warmer, fan convector,
controls and underfloor heating company.
Consequently, MYSON now offers an unrivalled and constantly improving selection of
heating solutions. Whether you are planning a new build project, doing renovation work or
adding an extension, MYSON has the optimum heating solution for you. Choose
MYSON and you can be confident that you are using the highest quality products and
receiving the highest quality service available.
Heating and the environment.MYSON is committed to producing environmentally friendly products, and this
commitment shows right through every product’s life cycle.
We use recyclable materials in our production processes wherever possible. Some of our
products are filled with biodegradable mineral oil, rather than fossil fuels. And because our
products are electric, they can be powered by alternative green energy sources like solar,
wind and geothermal.
Through our concern for the environment we are committed to producing products that
reduce energy consumption and your heating bills. That is why many of our products have
inbuilt, state of the art thermostats for precise temperature control, giving you exactly the
heat you need with no waste.
For instance, if the sun comes out and begins to warm the room, the thermostat will switch
off until the room’s temperature drops below your chosen setting.
And our commitment to the environment is evident even when our products reach the end
of their service, as most parts can be recycled, reducing landfill and raw material use.

06 Deciding On Your Heating Needs
Deciding on your heating needs. The amount of heat output required in a room to provide
the warmth you need, is primarily dictated by the size and
construction of the room in question. Just as this size varies
from room to room, so will the level of heat output required.
The simplest way to identify the heat output needed for an
individual room of typical construction is to, calculate the
volume of the room in cubic metres (m3) and then multiply
this number by 50 to find the Watts requirement.
For example, the volume of a room 2.4m high, 2m wide and
4m long would be 2.4 x 2 x 4 = 19.2 m3.
The recommended heat output required for this room would
therefore be 19.2 x 50 = 960 Watts.
MYSON insist that you always confirm your heating
requirements with your heating engineer/installer.
More choice. Fewer steps. To ensure that you obtain your optimum heating solutions,
simply follow the four steps below:
1. Method of heating: Start by choosing your
preferred method of heating. Whether your priority is what
looks best, what is most practical or what is most
economical, MYSON have the optimum heating method
for you. Models from our range of electric towel warmers,
designer radiators or fan convectors can be used
exclusively or collectively, depending on your requirements.
2. Heat outputs: Calculate your required heat output
for the room. The amount of heating required from your
choice of heating method varies from room to room,
according to its size. See ‘Deciding on your heating needs’
above.
3. Select the right model: Once you have
decided on your method of heating and your heat output
requirements, select the correct model to satisfy your needs.
4. Ordering & delivering: Simply place your order at
your preferred merchant, distributor or showroom, quoting
the MYSON product code. If the product is not in stock it
will be dispatched from MYSON stock within a minimum
of 5 working days.
If you require any further information or assistance, please

Important Technical Information 07
Electrical installation: All electrical models must be
hard wired and installed in the correct orientation by a
qualified electrician, in accordance with the IEE wiring
regulations BS 7671.
IP ratings: IP ratings are shown for all electrical products.
This must be considered when installing in a location
containing a bath or shower, as defined by BS 7671.
See diagram below:
Auto Power Management system (APM®):APM® represents the most advanced element technology
available. It is an economical, self-regulating element. When
it reaches the required temperature, it reduces power
consumption accordingly. There is no need for a thermostat.
The required temperature is achieved smoothly and stays
constant. APM® is now fitted to all PTC heater kits and most
MYSON electric units where stated.
Fixings: For the correct installation of designer radiators
and towel warmers, it is essential that the fixing of the
radiator is carried out in such a way that it is suitable
for intended use AND predictable misuse. A number of
elements need to be taken into consideration including the
fixing method used to secure the designer radiator or towel
warmer to the wall, the type and condition of the wall itself,
and any additional potential forces or weights that may
happen to be applied to the designer radiator or towel
warmer, prior to finalising installation.
Warranties: All MYSON sealed electric towel warmers,
radiators, fan convectors, elements, accessories and
thermostats carry a 2 year warranty. For electric underfloor,
the electric mat carries a 10 year warranty and the thermostat
carries a 2 year warranty.
Approval: All manufacturing sites are approved to the
environmental standard BS EN ISO 14001. Fan convectors
are tested to BS 4856 Part 1 for heating and Part 2 for
cooling, and are manufactured to quality system BS EN
ISO 9001.
Availability: All MYSON electric products are now
more widely available than ever before through our strong
relationships with leading national heating and plumbing
merchants/distributors, which means that MYSON
products are always available where and when you need
them. All MYSON towel warmers are now supplied from
stock, eliminating manufacturing lead times and ensuring
that products are despatched to you as soon as you order
them.
Dual fuel: MYSON also produce a number of products,
including towel warmers and the KICKSPACE® Duo fan
convector model. For full details visit www.myson.co.uk or
