The Institute of Technical Education (ITE) was established as a post-secondary institutionin1992,under theMinistryofEducation. ITE isaprincipalproviderofcareerandtechnicaleducationandakeydeveloperofnationalskillscertificationandstandardsskillingSingaporefor the future economy. It offers three key programmes - (1) Pre-Employment Training foryouthsaftersecondaryeducation(2)ContinuingEducationandTrainingforadultlearnersand(3)Industry-BasedandWork-StudyProgrammeswithemployers.Underits'OneITESystem,ThreeColleges'GovernanceModel,ITEhasthreeColleges-ITECollegeCentral,ITECollegeEast and ITE College West.

Inrecognitionofourorganisationalexcellenceandgloballeadership,wereceivedtheprestigiousSingaporeQualityAwardwithSpecialCommendation,forthesecondtime,in2018.ITEwasthefirsteducationinstitutioninSingaporetohavereceivedtheAwardin2011andremainstheonlyeducationinstitutioninSingaporetohavereceivedittwice.

PROFESSIONAL ENDORSEMENT OF ITE PROGRAMMESToensurethatourtrainingsyllabusescontinuallymeettheneedsandstandardsofindustry,wehaveinplaceawell-establishedsystemtovalidateeachcoursesyllabus.Withinthesystem,AcademicAdvisory Committees (AACs) are set up to examine and approve syllabuses ofcourses for the respective industries or occupational clusters.TheAACsmeet regularly todiscussandreviewthesyllabuses,providefeedbackonchangesinindustry,aswellasprovidespecialist advice on technological trends. EachAAC comprises employer representatives,professionalsandspecialistsfromtherespectiveindustries.

ENRICHING LEARNING ENVIRONMENTEach ITE College is equipped with up-to-date educational facilities. Practical lessons areconductedinexciting,authenticlearningenvironments,whichsimulateactualworkenvironment,fromaircrafthangars,high-endtrainingkitchensandrestaurantstosoundstages,AugmentedReality/VirtualRealitystudios,retailandhealthcarelabs.
LearninginITEisincreasinglyadigitalexperienceaswell,wherethelatesttechnologiesforteaching and learning for the digital economy are adopted in ITE Colleges.

CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCY COURSES FOR SKILLSFUTURE SERIES ABOUT SKILLSFUTURE SERIESThe SkillsFuture Series provides adult learners access to quality industry-relevant trainingprogrammes. Programmes are available in 8 emerging and critical areas inCybersecurity,DataAnalytics,Entrepreneurship,Finance,Tech-EnabledServices,DigitalMedia,AdvancedManufacturing, and Urban Solutions. Each area comprises a range of courses to cater toSingaporeansatallstagesoflearning-frombeginningtointermediatetoadvancelevels.
CERTIFICATE AWARDEDStudentsaretoattainattendanceofatleast75%ofthetraining.SuccessfulcompletionofeachcourseleadstoaCertificateofCompetency(CoC).
ENTRY REQUIREMENTIn general, there is no entry requirement. In some courses, applicants may need to possess pre-requisiteworkknowledgeorexperienceinrelevantareas.
DURATIONThedurationofcoursesrangesfrom7to60hours,includingassessment.
FUNDING AND SUBSIDYSingaporeCitizens/SingaporePermanentResidents(SC/SPRs)areeligiblefor70%coursefeesubsidy.Thefollowingenhancedfundingschemesalsoapply:- Mid-CareerEnhancedSubsidy(MCES)scheme:90%coursefeesubsidyforSCsaged40
andabove;and- WorkfareTrainingSupport(WTS)scheme:95%coursefeesubsidyforSCsaged35and
above,andearning$2000orlesspermonth.
SC/SPRswhorepeatacourseandforeignerswithvalidworkpasswillpaythefullfee.

ITE CET CERTIFICATION SYSTEMTheITECETCertificationSystemcomprises:
• Specialist Nitec for training courses that require Higher Nitec/Nitec in Services/Technology or Higher Nitec/Nitecqualificationsasanentryrequirement;
• Higher National ITE Certificate (Higher Nitec) in Services/Technology for trainingcourses that require GCE ‘O’ or relevantNitec in Services/Technology as an entryrequirement;
• National ITE Certificate (Nitec)inServices/TechnologyfortrainingcoursesthatrequirecompletionofGCE‘N’,GCE‘O’orrelevantISCasanentryrequirement;and
• ITE Skills Certificate (ISC) for training courses that require completion of primary educationasanentryrequirement;and
• ITE Certificate of Competency (CoC)forbite-sizedtrainingcoursesthatdonotrequireformalqualificationforadmission.

ITE TRAINING SYSTEM SEMESTER-BASED CREDIT TRAINING SYSTEM FOR CET COURSESCETcoursesareconductedonaSemester-basedCreditSystemofTraining(SCT).InSCT,coursesarestructuredandofferedasindividualmoduleswherecreditsareassignedtoeachmodule,basedontraininghoursandeffort.Amoduleisaself-containedunitofstudy,coveringselectedtopicsofasubjectarea.Dependingonthedemand,notallthemodulesintheCETcourseswillbeofferedineachintake.Wherethemodulesareofferedandthereisinsufficientenrolment,theclasseswillbecancelledandafullrefundwillbegiventotheaffectedstudents.
Astudentcanenrollforthemodulesaccordingtohis/hertrainingneeds.Eachmoduleistobecompletedwithina6-monthterm.
IN-MODULE ASSESSMENTS AND END-OF-MODULE EXAMINATIONS Assessmentforeachmodulewillbebasedonthefollowingmodes:
• In-Module assessments• End-of-Module examinations
Generally, the pass mark for each module is 50% (or other marks as determined by thecourse)and is basedon theweightedaggregate scoreof the in-moduleassessmentsandend-of-moduleexaminations.Theweightagefor in-moduleassessmentsandend-of-moduleexaminationsvariesforeachmodule.
IN-MODULE ASSESSMENTSIn-moduleassessmentsareintendedtogiverecognitiontothecontinuouslearningofstudentsin studying themodule. The number of in-module assessments studentswill have to takeisdifferent foreachmodule.Examplesof in-moduleassessments includewritten testsandassignments,practicaltestsandassignments,andprojects.
Tosuccessfullycompleteeachmodule,youwillneedtopassthecriticalskillsrequired.
END-OF-MODULE EXAMINATIONSEnd-of-moduleexaminationstesthowwellstudentscanintegratethevariouscompetenciesand knowledge acquired in the module. End-of-module examinations may include writtenexaminations and practical examinations.
ELIGIBILITY TO SIT FOR END-OF-MODULE EXAMINATIONSStudentsmust achieve aminimumof 80%module attendance rate to be eligible to sit forthe end-of-module examinations. A student’s attendance rate is computed based on thecumulative lesson hours for eachmodule in a semester. Students who did not satisfy themoduleattendanceratewillbedebarredforthemoduleanddeemedtohavefailedthemodule.
CREDITSWhenstudentspassedamodule,theywillearncreditsofthemodule.

GRADE POINT AVERAGETheGradePointAverage(GPA)representsastudent’scurrentstandinginthecourseofstudy.Itistheratioofthetotalgradepointsearnedtothetotalcreditsattemptedtodate.ThefinalGPAscoreatthepointofgraduationdeterminestheoverallperformanceofthestudentinthecourse of study.

RELEASE OF MODULE RESULTSThe date of the release of module results is posted on the ITE Home Page at the end of each term.StudentscanviewtheirmoduleresultsviaITEStudentPortalorSMS(ifstudentshavesubscribedforSMSservices)fromthedateofthereleaseofmoduleresults.
AStatementofResultswillalsobeissuedtothestudents.TheStatementofResultsshowsthegradesandcreditsearnedinallthemodulesthatthestudentshavetakeninthatterm,aswellastheircurrentandcumulativeGPAs.

CERTIFICATIONAModuleCertificateforaHigher NitecinServices/TechnologyorNitecinServices/Technologycourseofstudywillbeawarded for themodule(s) thatastudentpassed inanexaminationseries.
Studentswhomeet the certification requirements of course of study in the samemode oftrainingwithin6yearsfromthefirstsetofapprovedassessmentresults,maybeawardedtheHigher NitecinServices/TechnologyorNitecinServices/TechnologyorISCfullcertificateandan academic transcript.
StudentsshouldseekadvicefromtheDepartmentoftheCollegeofferingtheCETcourse,onthemodulesthatneedtobecompleted,toqualifyforafullcertificate.
APPLICATION FOR CERTIFIED STATEMENT, STATEMENT OF RESULTS OR ACADEMIC TRANSCRIPTStudentsmayapplyforaCertifiedStatement(noreplacementoforiginalcertificate)oracopyoftheStatementofResultsorAcademicTranscriptusingtheprescribedapplicationformwithpaymentof$10pertypeofstatementrequested,atanyITECustomer&VisitorCentre.
COLLECTION OF CERTIFICATESGraduatesandstudentswillbeinformedintheStatementofResultstocollecttheircertificatefromtheAdministrationOffice/Customer&VisitorCentreoftheirCollegeofstudyduringofficehoursorat theCollegeGraduationCeremonyasadvisedby theirCollege.Certificatesnotcollectedwithin 1 year from the date of issue,will be destroyed andwill not be re-issued.PleaserefertoITEWebsiteforthetelephonenumbersandofficehoursoftheAdministrationOffice/Customer&VisitorCentre. Ifgraduatesorstudentsareunable tocollect theircertificatepersonally, theycanauthoriseanotherpersontocollectthecertificateontheirbehalf.Duringthecollection,theauthorisedperson(Proxy)needstoproduceanAuthorisationformsignedbythegraduate/studentandaphotocopyofgraduate/student’sNRIC/EmploymentPass/WorkPermit.Theauthorisedperson(Proxy)isalsorequiredtoshowhis/heroriginalNRIC/EmploymentPass/WorkPermit.
CERTIFICATE OF MERITCertificateofMerit(COM)isgenerallyawardedtothetop5%ofthegraduatesfromacourse.Graduatesmusthavepassedallmodulesatthefirstattemptwithinnormalcoursedurationandhaveachievedoutstandingperformanceintheircourseofstudy,withacumulativeGPAof3.5orabove,atthepointofgraduation.
COURSE MEDALTheCourseMedalsareawardedtotheoutstandingCOMholdersineachcourse.ThenumberofCourseMedalsawardedforeachcourseisbasedonthenumberofgraduatesofthecourse,subjecttoamaximumof3medalspercourse.
Graduateswill be awarded aGold,Silver orBronzeCourseMedal, based on their overallperformance in their course of study and other contributions.
TOP GRADUATE AWARDCETgraduatewithoutstandingperformanceandwhohasdisplayedexemplaryqualitiesoflifelonglearningandupgradingefforts,willbeconsideredforoneoftheTopGraduateAwards.

e-LEARNING e-LEARNING AND ITS BENEFITSe-Learningaimstoenablestudents tohavemoreflexibility in ‘when’and ‘where’ they learnthrough the use of technology.Studentsmay also participate in learning activities such asgroupdiscussions,attemptonline testsandquizzes tocheck theirprogressor reviewwhattheyhavelearned. Under e-Learning, the Theory hours will be scheduled into face-to-face and self-directedlearning(SDL)sessions.
• During the face-to-face sessions, the lecturer will be present in class to guide thestudents’learning.
• DuringtheSDLsessions,studentswillaccessonlinematerialsontheirownusingITE’smyConnexionsystemandanyotherlearningresourcesprovidedbythelecturer.Therewillbenoclassroomlessons.Studentsmayemailtheirlecturersiftheyneedhelp.
Toextendthebenefitsofe-learningtostudents,SDLsessionsareincorporatedforallHigher Nitec and Nitec modules.
REQUIREMENTS OF e-LEARNING Studentsneed tohave Internetaccess inorder toaccessmyConnexion. IfstudentsdonothaveaccesstotheInternet,self-accessroomswouldbemadeavailableattheCollege.Yourlecturerwillinformyouoftheschedulewhenthetermstarts.
ATTENDANCE COMPUTATIONSDLhoursareincludedinthetotalattendancehourstodeterminestudents’eligibilitytositfortheend-of-moduleexamination.However,SDLhoursarenotclaimableunderSSG’sAbsenteePayroll funding.
ACCESS TO WI-FI SERVICE StudentsmayaccessWi-FiservicewhileonITEcampus.TologintotheWi-Fiservice,simplygotoyourITEStudentPortalaccountathttps://myportal.ite.edu.sgandclickon"myEmail"toobtainyourloginIDandpassword.

MODULE EXEMPTION Studentscanapplyforexemptionfromoneormoremodulesinacourseofstudy,basedontheirrelevantpriorlearningacquiredfromITEorotherrecognisedinstitutions.

EVALUATION CRITERIA Applicantswillneedtoproduceevidenceoftheirpriorlearning.Applicationswillbeevaluatedbasedon:
• Certifiedlearningacquiredisstillrelevantandcurrent;
• Relevantworkexperienceacquiredfromlocalcompanies,ifany;and
• Aone-offpracticaltesttobetakenbyapplicants,ifdeemednecessaryatthediscretionof ITE.
APPLICATION RULES Tobeeligibletoapplyformoduleexemption,applicantsmustobservethefollowingrules:
• ApplicantsaretoapplyformoduleexemptionafterregisteringforaCETcourseofstudyand beforethecoursestarts.Youwillnotbeabletoapplyformoduleexemptionafterthecourse has begun.
• Applicants should not apply for the same module exemption at different Colleges.Unsuccessfulapplicantsmayre-applyforexemptionforthesamemodule,iftheyhaveacquiredadditionalrelevantlearningand/orqualification(s)duringthecourseofstudy.
HOW TO APPLY?Application for module exemption must be submitted to the Customer & Visitor Centre of applicants’Collegeofstudy,beforethestartofthemoduletraining.Takethefollowingsteps:
• Download the application form from www.ite.edu.sg/admissions/part-time-courses/application-forms-for-cet-skills-courses or obtain a set from the Customer & Visitor Centre of their College of study.
• Submit completed application form to applicant's College of study, with supportingdocumentsasfollows:

- Detailedresults;

CandidatesmustinformthePresidingExaminerorInvigilatorimmediatelyiftheyarenotissuedthecorrectmoduleexaminationorsupplementarymaterials(e.g.formulaesheet).

Academic DishonestyCandidates are guilty of dishonesty if they cheat or attempt to cheat, during the examination.

Posting of Examination Material OnlineCandidatesarenotallowedtopostanyexamination-relatedcopyrightmaterial(e.g.wholeorpartofquestion(s),questionpaper,answerscript)onanysocialmediaorwebpage.Candidateswhoarefoundtohavedonesowillbesubjecttodisciplinaryaction.
Deferment of ExaminationCandidateswhoareunable tosit foranexaminationbuthaveavalid reason,canseek fora deferment to the next examination series. Candidates are to submit their requests to their SectionHeadsforapprovalbeforethedateofexamination.
For reasons of absence that cannot be known beforehand, candidates must submit theirapplicationswithsupportingdocumentswithinthenext two working days from the date of examination.Thesupportingdocumentsshouldpreferablybetheoriginalcopy.However, incaseswherethesupportingdocumentsarerequiredbymorethanoneparty(e.g.morethanonecollege/departmentforexaminationsatdifferentcolleges),photocopiesofthesupportingdocumentcanbeaccepted.However,thephotocopymustbecertifiedastruecopybyITEstaffwhoaredesignatedasLecturersandaboveafteroriginalcopyissighted.

Infectious Diseases and Hospitalised CandidatesCandidateswhoaresufferingfromanyinfectiousdisease(e.g.chickenpox,SARS,H1N1)arenot allowed to sit for the examination in their usual examination centre. Arrangements for a hospitalisedcandidatetositforexaminationwillbeconsideredonacase-by-casebasis.
Major Train Service DisruptionIntheeventofmajortrainservicedisruption,candidatesshouldstillmaketheirwaytotheirexaminationcentres.Candidatesmaybeallowedtotakeexaminationswithfulldurationgiveniftheyarrivebeforetheendoftheexaminationandprovidednoothercandidateshavelefttheexaminationcentre.Otherwise,candidatesmaybeallowedtotakemake-upexaminations.
APPEALS REGULATIONCandidatesmayappeal to review theirmodule results, if theyhave reasons tobelieve thatthemodulegradeawardedforaparticularmoduleshouldhavebeenbetter.AppealsmustbemadebeforetheclosingdateshownontheITEWebsite.Lateappealswillnotbeentertained.

The GE ProgrammeoffersawiderangeofsubjectsfromSecondaryOneNormal(Academic)toGCE‘N’andGCE‘O’levels.Generally,classesrunfromMarchtoOctobereachyear,andlessonsareheldonceaweekforeachsubject.
ENTRANCE TESTForskillscourses,applicantscanalsoregisterandsitforanEntranceTestconductedbyITEatafeeof$10(inclusiveof7%GST).TheEntranceTest(ofabout1hour40minutesduration)isavailableonlineforwalk-inapplicantsatanyITECustomer&VisitorCentre.Thetestresultisknownonthesamedayofthetest.Thereisnoneedtopre-registerforthetest.
