oYou are

helpingLow-Income Pet Owners

Your generous donations to the Bates Memorial Pet Fund, along witha 2019 grant from Petco Foundation and 2018 grants from the Ohio PetFund and PetSmart Charities, have helped to ensure that no pet caregiverliving in Northeast Ohio’s underserved neighborhoods must choosebetween buying food, paying the rent, and fixing their pet.

In 2019, PetFix provided 1,636 free or subsidized surgeriesfor dogs and cats of low-income pet owners.

By eliminating the financial barrier that stops many people from havingtheir animal fixed, you are helping to proactively prevent pet homelessnessand its tragic consequences. Thank you!

80,000 Surgeries and CountingSince beginning operations in 2006, PetFix hasperformed 80,067 surgeries! With the help of donorslike you, we’ve been able to prevent well over a quarterof a million dogs and cats from struggling to survive onthe streets of Northeast Ohio or being needlesslyeuthanized simply because there aren’tenough homes for them. We could notdo this lifesaving work without you,our spay and neuter supporters!

TNR Saves LivesTrap-Neuter-Return (TNR) works! Throughdirected gifts from generous PetFix donors andthe help of supporters like you, coupled with our expanded surgical capacity, we spayed or neutered (and ear-tipped) more than 1,300 community cats last year.

Continuing EducationIn May, the PetFix staff received onsite trainingand consultation with two experts from ASPCASpay Neuter Alliance. Staff honed their skillsin animal handling, patient care andmonitoring, efficiency and diseaseprevention to ensure that the dogsand cats visiting PetFix receivetop notch medical care.

Ending Pet HomelessnessIn February, more than 35 Northeast Ohio animal welfareorganizations came together for the Pet Homelessness Regional Summit. This daylong event, co-sponsored by PetFix Northeast Ohio and Best Friends Animal Society, challenged participants to harness their collective strengths to imagine and design a future where every cat and dog born in Northeast Ohio has a home.

Outreach EffortsLast summer, PetFix engaged in grassrootsoutreach at festivals, concerts, fooddistribution days and farmers marketsin East Cleveland and the Clevelandneighborhoods of Collinwood, Houghand Glenville. Staff and volunteersshared information about the benefitsof spay/neuter, as well as PetFix’s affordable services through the Bates Memorial Pet Fund for low-income pet owners.

PetFix | MissionPetFix is a non-profit organization that provideshigh quality, affordable spay and neuter surgeriesto end pet homelessness and the need forunnecessary euthanasia.

2019 PetFix PartnersPetFix transports dogs and cats every week from area shelters, spays or neuters them, and returns them that same day. In doing so, we keep animals moving through shelters and intotheir forever homes, freeing up space for the next animal in need of a second chance. We were honored to join with these transport partners in 2019to provide a better life for companion animals in our region:
