The First International University in Australia
At the invitation of the South Australian Government, CMU opened its Australian campus in Adelaide in 2006.
Located in the heritage-listed Torrens Building in Victoria Square, CMU was the first international university to
be established in Australia. Our Australian campus (CMU-A) establishes CMU’s presence in Asia, making it a vital
partner to other CMU extension campuses in Silicon Valley, Rwanda, and Qatar.
Ramayya Krishnan

“When you come to Adelaide, you will be instructed
by world class faculty with diverse backgrounds
from around the globe. Through an initiative we
call C-cube – Create, Connect and Collaborate –
students will take courses and engage with fellow
students from the university's Pittsburgh and
Washington DC's campuses. I invite you to learn
more about Carnegie Mellon University's programs,
faculty and student experience offered in Adelaide.”
Emil P. Bolongaita
Head, CMU Australia
“CMU-A offers extraordinary educational and career
advancement opportunities for those seeking
to study information technology, information
systems, and public policy and management. Three
factors describe our DNA as a university; the first
is our commitment to excellence, demonstrated
by our world-class faculty and staff. The second
is our record of performance which is reflected
in the accomplishments and entrepreneurship of
our alumni. The third is our relentless pursuit of
innovation, proven by research and development
outcomes and intellectual property that is often
sought after by the market. These three factors
combine to ensure that we produce graduates who
can add tremendous value wherever they apply
themselves. On behalf of the faculty and staff of
CMU in Australia, I am delighted to welcome you to
