Analyzing Visuals To analyze a visual, you are going to use a strategy called
SOAPS – T – TONE. As you review the visual, you will provide answers to the following
S – Subject
O – Occasion (time & place)
A – Audience (the readers to whom this is directed)
P – Purpose (the reason)
S – Speaker (the voice telling the story)
T – Techniques (color, balance, grouping, focus, etc…)
Tone – Tone (the attitude of the author)

Editing
On editing days I will provide you with a paragraph with at least ten
