What is the Southwest Region ?

This region is home to the Pomo, Shoshone,

Paiute, and Miwok tribes found from the Pacific coast inland

over the Sierra Nevada Mts and into

the Great Basin.

Intermountain Region?

This region is located along the Pacific

Coast from Alaska to California and his

home to the Kwakiutl Tlingit and Chinook

tribes.

What is the Northwest Coastal

Region ?

Located between the Cascade and Rocky

Mountains, this region included parts of the

northwestern states and British Columbia. The Nez

Perce, Spokane, and Yakima tribes lived here.

What is the Plateau

Region ?

East of the Plateau lay a region that extends from

the Rocky Mts to the Mississippi River. It

stretched north to south from Canada to Texas. It

was home to the Cheyenne, Pawnee,

Comanche and Sioux tribes.

What is the Great Plains

Region?

The Algonquin and Iroquois tribes were found to settle

among the hills, mountains, valleys and seacoasts of this region. The region stretched from the Mississippi River to the Atlantic Ocean and ran from the Great Lakes to the

Ohio River.

Woodlands Region ?

Swamps, hot and steamy climates, tall razor-sharp grass are characteristics of this cultural region. Home

to the Seminoles, Creek, Choctaw tribes

What is the Southeast Region?

This region is known for its treeless grassland with

cold winters and hot summers home to many

animals including, antelope, deer, bears and

the prized animal the buffalo.

Region?

This region is densely covered with fir pine,

and cedar forests right to the ocean’s shores

What is the Northwest Coast

Region?

With plenty of water provided by the Columbia and Fraser

Rivers this region was covered with forests by the mountains

thick grasses, berries, or camas (lily) and inhabited by deer, bear and jack rabbits.

?

This Indian tribe from the Northwest Coast region made their clothing, fishing

equipment and carved figures(totem poles) out of cedar poles and bark.

Native to the California-Intermountain Region this tribe is known for

their artistic crafts such as beautiful woven

baskets made of grass which were decorated with shells, beads and

feathers.

keep cool from the extreme heat.

The camas root was animportant “staple in this Native American tribe’s

diet. They were also known for their distinctive grass woven clothing such as

from buffalo are artifacts found from this Native American

tribe.
