What are they?

Prisms are common geometric forms (shapes).Square.

Rectangular.Triangular.Hexagonal.Octagonal.

How do you draw them?

If the size of the hexagon is given as A/C or across the corners you need to draw the hexagon inside

a circle of the same diameter.

Draw a circle to the given diameter, 60mm.

Using the 30/60 set square divide the circle in to 12.

Draw horizontal line at the top and bottom where the generators meet

the circle.

Using the 30/60 set square draw in the four sloping sides.

Now outline the hexagon.

When the size of the hexagon is given as A/C or across the flats, the hexagon is drawn outside the circle.

Firstly draw a circle 60mm diameter and divide it in to 12 using the

30/60 set square .

Draw the horizontal lines on the top and bottom of the circle where the

centre line meets the circle .

Using the 30/60 set square draw the four sloping sides.

Now outline the hexagon.

The size of an octagon is given across the flats. As with the

hexagon draw the circle 60mm.

Add two centre lines.Add two vertical and two horizontal lines where the centre line meet the

circle.

Using the 45 set square, draw in the remaining 4 lines making

tangents to the circle.

Outline the octagon.
