Biblical Prayer

(1Th 3:10-13) Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith? Now God himself and our Father,

and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you. And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we

do toward you: To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father,

at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

A. The Pointing of Biblical prayer

(Jer 10:23) O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not

in man that walketh to direct his steps.

(Psa 32:8) I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou

shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

(Psa 37:23) The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he

delighteth in his way.

(Psa 119:18) Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous

things out of thy law.

B. The Price of Biblical prayer

(Rom 1:9-10) For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers; Making request, if by

any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to

come unto you.

C. The Priority of Biblical prayer

SICKNESS

(1Ti 5:23) Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy

stomach's sake and thine often infirmities.

SICKNESS

(2Co 12:7-10) And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted

above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon

me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I

am weak, then am I strong.

WORK

(2Th 3:8-12) Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you: Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us. For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not

work, neither should he eat. For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus

Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.

Social Problems

(Php 4:2) I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the

same mind in the Lord.

Death

(Psa 116:15) Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

II. We must Supplement

our prayer for others

(1Th 3:10-13) Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith? Now God himself and our Father,

and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you. And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we

do toward you: To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father,

at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

(1Th 1:3) Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of

love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our

Father;

(1Ti 2:1) I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers,

intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

(Mat 15:18) But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and

they defile the man.

(Job 42:10) And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he

prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as

he had before.

A.That they may prosper in Love

(Eph 4:11-16) And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of

the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is

the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the

effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

(Rom 5:1-5) Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we

stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that

tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed;

because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

(1Pe 4:8) And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves:

for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

A.That they may prosper in Love

B. That they may persistent in their heart

(Heb 13:9) Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is

a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with

meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

(1Th 3:10-13) Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith? Now God himself and our Father,

and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you. And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we

do toward you: To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our

Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

(1Jn 4:16-19) And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but

perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

We love him, because he first loved us.
