Our condolences to Greg Johnson on the loss of Mugsy. Mugsy will always hold a special place in the hearts of his Save a Dog family. May his head always be hanging out the back of a jeep with the wind in his face and his big ears flapping in the breeze. We miss you Mugsy!

Make sure you know your original adoption date and if possible any other siblings from your dog’s litter. Then you can all walk together during the “family walk” part of the event. A family reunion for sure! We adopted out 13 litters of 4 or more dogs this last year and all have been invited to participate today.

PARADE OF ADOPTABLE DOGS A parade of adoptable dogs will be held at 12:00 PM in the Main Ring. Adoptable dogs from attending breed rescue groups and shelters will be shown. Let’s cheer them on!
FLYING HIGH FRISBEE DOGSAt 1:00 PM watch this Amazing demo by Mike Piazza of really talented dogs doing tricks and dances while chasing frisbees. Fun for all ages.
Our Tallulah died January 27th. Her rear legs had become suddenly paralyzed because there was an inoperable tumor pressing on her spine, and the only option was to put her to sleep. Tallulah was a sato from Puerto Rico whom we adopted 6 years ago. She had been hit by a car while pregnant; and a police officer brought her to Save a Sato, who nursed her back to health. After not being adopted for a year, she was sent to Buddy Dog, where we met her and fell in love. Tallulah was a feisty, gregarious, fun girl who made every-body smile. We know she’s in Heaven with the puppies she lost -- washing cats and chasing squirrels on her 4 perfect legs. We miss her terribly!
Katie and her family remember Tallulah

Morgan was 13 and was such a huge part of our family. She loved swimming in the ocean at the cape, loved her walks and her family. She helped us get through some tough times and she was a mother to every foster and to her fury brothers. The house will not be the same, but I know that she is running in heaven with her brother Otis.~ Pizzimento Family

As we have seen an increase in the number of local dogs turned in due to their owners’ financial hardship, we want to help prevent a pet from losing their loving home by providing free meals to pets. The Meals-on-Wheels-for-Pets program will benefit both pets and their owners, particularly seniors who are on a fixed income as well as pet owners who are suffering from job loss. For more information on Meals-on-Wheels-for-Pets, VIsIt oUr InforMatIon booth.

The Zelle Family Remembers Skippy
Skippy was once a courageous dog. But in his youth he launched himself over a half wall beside a second story staircase, and he abandoned bravery as he skidded gracelessly across the carpet.Skippy was once a destructive dog. But soon all stuffed animals in his household had lost their plastic eyes and noses and lost their appeal.Skippy was once a fiercely protective dog. But after torturing the puppy Kirby for months, he welcomed a familiar companion to his side.Skippy was once an adventurous dog. But eventually the allure of the unknown lost its appeal and he preferred to trot along trails beside those he loved.Skippy was once a fast and athletic dog. But in his old age, he contented himself with leaping onto beds and couches rather than over backyard fences.Skippy was once a restless dog. But the comforts and warmth of human feet beneath him soon overpowered the urge to pace through the night in search of mischief.Skippy was once a loyal friend. And though he no longer peers surreptitiously around the corner as I enter the front door, I will always see him in my memories.

PAWS IN THE PARKDOG WALK
Save A Dog is a 501c3 tax exempt Humane Society whose mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and find adoptable homes for abandoned dogs. We are a holistically-minded organization that believes in providing the highest quality care to our rescued dogs. We give the dogs vitamins, herbal supplements, and probiotics from day one as our shelter protocol. Each night the new arrivals are serenaded to animal healing music while enjoying a fresh chewie on their kuranda beds. We have a very strong foster home program so that the dogs are transitioned into the home environment as soon as possible. We educate our adopters on holistic care for their new dog and our Retail room carries pet food and all the holistic supplements at a very low cost to our adopters and supporters. Please come visit us during our open hours. Save A Dog was incorporated in 1999 and is funded entirely by private donations.
Please keep the historical grounds of the Wayside Inn litter free. For your convenience, doggy clean-up bags are inside your goodie bag, as well as available at all our Booths.
During the Revolutionary war when British General Howe’s dog accidentally crossed American lines, General George Washington wrote a letter to his British counterpart and returned the dog to him.
No wonder we elected him the first President! In the midst of the Revolution he took the time to save a dog!
Save A Dog is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Additional pledges and tax deductible donations should be mailed to:
