Region/Section Education Pilot Program

In 2007, provide “free” access to 1-3 course modules to be used to supplement Region, Section or Chapter educational activities

Program outline will include recommended best practices:

Recruiting of local expert speaker to act as Subject Mater Expert (SME) to present the course at a meeting

Provide student branches the opportunity to assist w/ administration and network with community

Use the event to promote IEEE membership

Attendees receive CEUs in exchange for completion of feedback surveys

So far – The first pilot event was held by the Singapore Section in September 2006 and had 137 participants. Program included:

Presentation of three IEEE Expert Now courses accompanied by local expert speakers on chosen topics

In the works – Pilot events are being planned in Regions 2, 4 and 8
